Echo Show 5 is all ads now, that you cant turn off. The main things it needed is no ads, smaller bezels, and option to increase font size. None of those were addressed?

@@Commander_HW I agree I can be right in front of it and I will have to say her name three times before she hears me. So I have the first generation one and I think it’s malfunctioning because I could be right in front of her and take me like three times to say her name. And I can be out of my room but near it and I’ll hear her like she heard me. Like I’ll be out of my room, but still near my room, but just not in it and also, I hear her talking and saying something like she didn’t understand. I couldn’t hear me when I didn’t even talk to her. Social randomly start talking like she thought she heard me but I could be in the room in front of her and I have to say her name a bunch of times before she heard me. Like telling her to turn the lamp on or off in my room I just have to say a few times before she hears me, but yet you randomly think she heard me when I’m not even in the room.

@@Commander_HW so like yes I want some newer features now that this is a third generation by F I can say her name once and she hears me that would be great or acting like somethings wrong like she heard me but she can’t turn the lamp off or on in my room and so. I just have to keep saying a bunch of time before suddenly there’s no problem and she can’t turn the lamp on. So I can just say her name once, and I have to keep repeating it and she doesn’t randomly start talking to me. I will be happy with that. Because I don’t have the second generation I have the first generation, and she literally if not once a day once every few days she starts talking. I live in a studio apartment so I can see my bedroom from the kitchen so I can be in the kitchen at all so I hear her say she couldn’t understand me when I wasn’t even talking to her. But I couldn’t find her and I have to three or four time tell her to turn the lamp on in my room it’s ridiculous. Like sometimes my phone start in my hand so I can’t use the app to turn the lamp on in my room so sometimes I have to tell her to do it. It’s ridiculous. So if they’ve improved that with the third generation, then I’m happy with that. Because I didn’t realize it was becoming a problem till the end of last year beginning of this year she got worse.

How can we have new devices with all the current bugs? I have a house full and they never work. Randomly playing music. Answering questions and making announcements when everyone is asleep. Its killing me !

I’m still trying to figure out what they improved. What has changed because this video didn’t really tell you much of anything. I heard like the sound is better a great I’m glad if I can play music on it and it sounds so much better because somedays playing Apple Music which always disconnects I have to reconnect like every like 2 to 3 days I have to re-connect Apple Music to it. And some days it doesn’t sound very good but I do hope they improved so that when you say her name and you tell her to do something, you don’t have to keep repeating it, or feel like you have to yell at her sometimes she doesn’t hear me and some days she actually does hear me. And the randomly start talking when I didn’t even talk to her is getting annoying. I mean I get it she’s the first generation I got her in like April 2019 and I pretty much just use her as an alarm clock add to turn the lights on and off in my apartment. And turn the lights on and off she does not always respond. Not only does she not always respond the app which I use sometimes to turn the lights on and off doesn’t always work either. So sometimes I play music but since I have Apple Music, it doesn’t always wanna work with her so mostly for an alarm clock, turn the lights on and off in the apartment. So I’m hoping the new one improve that because I officially need a new one.

they say bass is improved. the screen has rounded instead of square corners. the fabric travels up to the front face now rather than stopping at a plastic border. that appears it.

I got one of the previous generation show 5", and it has a very hard time hearing especially when there is any background noise. This new one adds an extra microphone which supposedly will help with that. It also has a faster chip and better audio.

I'm definitely the same with mine I accidentally had a rage quit and I threw a wooden pepper at her and I thought I broke her but every time I kept saying her name she didn't respond to me she just showed me pictures of what she would answer to like the new spider-man movie or something now she can't talk it all so I'm kind of thinking I broke her but I'm trying to laugh because she is like so dumb

They are doing the exact thing as iPhone they release something new and tell us some new features that we don’t even care about and instead of them saying oh yeah it’s better camera quality this time they’re saying it’s better sound quality like I swear these tech companies are running out of ideas and I mean, at least some of the Apple updates are actually cool What they need to add is a FaceTime feature so you can FaceTime people that aren’t in the same household 0:10

Echo Team, I am very Good reseller Echo Devices in Latin america, I recomend urgently you Make a Echo Wall with 3 speakers, 2 Tweeter and 1 Woofer, the idea is install around my House Echo Speaker, with out active Alexa by Voice, just sound music and message, notifications, comunications etc. The 1 first Gen in two color Black and White, for use Outdoor my Home, Pool, Den, Terrance etc I want to use with Multi Room to the same time.

Please help. Amazon can't help me. They cant figure out whats wrong with my Echo Show 5 3rd Gen even they already replaced my unit. Whenever Spotify is playing, the song always freezes on the last 15 seconds before the end. And its painfully slow even on responding. Unlike my Echo Dot, always fast and seamless. I even talked to Amazon rep and we tried everything and still did not solve the issue.

I assume it still has the really buggy and slow OS as before. I'm tired of having to reset my device back to factory every few months when things start messing up. It's a shame Amazon seem to put very little development into the software.

refurbished for 25 from woot? that's the best one for the price because it has an auxillary input which was removed for Gen 2. Idk how much better the speakers are on the Gen 2 or how good they'll be on the gen 3, but I'm pretty sure the Show 5 kinda just sucks for audio. I have a Show 8(45 refurb woot, also w/ aux input) and it sounds so much better... that said. Honestly Echo products seem to SUCK for audio. Like literally. Even their studio speaker should be considered sub-par to entry level audiophile people -- you'd think with that being their most premium product, they'd want to compete with brands like Apple -- nope. HomePod destroys the Echo Studio.

great sound and video quality but im really disappointed that its a plug in only device, they hardly show the cable in the video, you would think by now it would incorporate a battery like my cheap speaker does? i would therefore give this product 4 out of ten. its not as flexible as the video makes out.

Amazon: nobody wants your Alexa garbage any more. She's the worst assistant there is, and that says a lot since Cortana exists. All my echo show does these days is display annoying ads (on a device I paid for), misinterpret my commands, and show a clock that only takes up about 10% of the screen.
