Alphard is a different category of vehicle, and 220 is recond price, btw. SUV usage is different.

Agreed. Anybody drives daily alphard to go to work ? Alphard vellfire recond is mostly sought after as weekend car i think. This one is purely fun car to drive daily workhorse combining the function of your weekend family car with daily workhorse

CX-5 is lighter, and had a lighter load. Torque is 420 Nm compared to 450 Nm for the Diesel, but has 42 horses more. It's like the tortoise and the hare.

Correct. They trimmed the width and overall length but kept the same 2930 mm wheelbase.

Yes, they did quite a bit of work on sound proofing.

The CX-9 is a larger vehicle, and if you can afford the additional amount, it is an excellent bargain too. That is the wonderful part of marketing - right price and size for each variant. And a price for each pocket size too: that is why there are so many variants - so you buy whichever suits you. Good comment.

Depends on my usage. CX8 is more refined, and newer, but Fortuner is a full 4WD with same mechanicals as the Hilux.

Now mco, cannot get car.

The CX-8 has a wheelbase that is about 9 inches longer, and therefore it would be more comfortable in all circumstances. No magic, just plain numbers.

Can use the shift lever too.

I would take the diesel for the additional torque.

They cannot have too many options in a relatively small market.

Depends on your thirst for power. The NA is pretty good on its own.

Thanks for your reply. Do you think the CX8 2.5 NA will be underpowered carrying 4 adults up Genting Highlands, for instance? Between the CX8 2.5 NA and 2.2 diesel turbo AWD, which would you recommend?

The Mazda diesels and gasoline engines are just as efficient. The diesel would be a bit more economical on fuel, and have higher torque.

YS Khong Driving will that be gasoline engine to be more reliable than diesel in the long run, i’m thinking of getting either 2.2D or 2.5L Turbo. How would you choose?

The noise is about the same. Very quiet - I placed the sound recorder in a different place - you can see it on the centre console between the driver and passenger seat, so it is nearer to the engine. The engine note is really nice. Despite the fact that this is a diesel, it is surprisingly very quiet. And thanks for your support.

And the CX8 is built on the CX9 platform, stronger.

I am waiting for the CX-8 since it was introduced in Japan. We own a CX-5 which has become a little small for the family. We don’t need the 3rd row. It’s good when you go out with friends and you don’t have to use a second car. We own Mazdas since 2008 and the 7-seater PPVs are so our taste. I don’t need off-road capabilities and their ride is not so comfortable. I have to wait for the specs of the CX-8 in Thailand. Unfortunately the CX-8 will not get the new dash design of the Mazda 3 and the CX-30, yet. That is the reason why I will wait.

The numbers represent the percentage of biodiesel. Obviously 7 is better than 10.

For serious off-road, I would get a 4x4 truck. The AWD system works differently in this type of SUV, and there is no Low range. And you are right - 188 horses is better than a lower number. Ride quality is a different ballgame too.

I would go for diesel too but unfortunately I prefer the 7 seater configuration which only available on 2.5 NA lowest spec. CX-9 is too expensive.
