The Peugeot e-2008 is a stylish and comfortable electric SUV that stands out from the crowd. With its sleek exterior design and plush interior, it feels more premium than many rivals like the MG ZS EV and Vauxhall Mokka Electric.
Inside, the e-2008 impresses with high-quality materials and stylish touches like the wraparound dashboard. The new 10-inch touchscreen also brings the infotainment up to date. However, the system still isn't the most intuitive to use. The small steering wheel can also obscure the digital dials for some drivers.
Rear seat space is limited, especially kneeroom and headroom. But the square boot is very usable despite having only 435 litres of capacity on paper. The lack of a load lip makes sliding heavy items in and out easy. Overall, the e-2008 offers reasonable practicality for an electric SUV this size.
Performance is leisurely rather than sporty. Light steering makes the e-2008 effortless to drive around town, where its comfortable suspension soaks up bumps nicely. It remains composed on the motorway too. But in corners, excessive body lean detracts from any dynamic fun.
The update for 2023 is welcome, with a slightly larger 54kWh battery increasing the range from 217 to 250 miles. That puts it on par with rivals like the Skoda Enyaq and MG ZS EV. However, the Kia Niro EV still goes further on a charge. Rapid charging capability is also mediocre.
Overall, the Peugeot e-2008 combines style, comfort and quality in an appealing package. Buyers after a premium electric SUV experience will find it fits the bill nicely. Just be ready to accept the limited space and average range.
