Em, C, G, D, Am - Strum guide audio at the beginning of the video. The pattern is a suggestion, but I encourage you to listen to the rhythm that is in the audio and vary the rhythm to match what's in the audio!

Hey! So I started learning to play the uke day before yesterday and I am learning it only for fun, online. I came across a lot of songs with the D major, and since I was very impatient to be able to play my favourite songs I just started using my thumb to play it instead... It actually works well for me!

I had a teacher once that used his thumb to play D, not from the right side but from the left side of the uke, and now I find it much easier to go from D to Em. You should try it and see if it works out for you too.

I can't go from D to Em. I've been through the whole song maybe 4 times and practiced pretty much every day for a week and still push down on the other strings trying to get it. Can anyone think of any way to help?
@jia22076 жыл бұрын
Oli Mercer substitute em with e it will be much easier but sounds almost the same
@xin.a6 жыл бұрын
Relax and play it slowly. Like real slow, then speed up the pace once your fingers are used to it.
@mariemgharbi9556 жыл бұрын
Oli Mercer ur probably putting your fingers the wrong cuz it's a very easy transition. In the D chord you have to put your 3rd finger on the first string third fret, ur 2nd finger on the third string third fret and your 1st finger on the second string third fret. It's also easier this way if you're transitioning from G to D. To transition from D to Em you're gonna keep ur 2nd finger(middle finger) in the same spot, then move your 1st finger( index) to the fourth string second fret and move your 3rd finger to the second string fourth fret. Now you have an Em chord and the transition is super easy. Hope this helps someone😊

it's okay, once you get used to it, you can master it. hopefully by now you know how to do it. try it without the music and the vocals first, if you continue practicing, then you'll be able to teach others.

honestly, repetition is the best solution I used to have a hard time changing from note to note and I would start out slow just switching from note to note for example in your case you would be changing from d to em continuously, repetition. Your fingers hurt just keep doing it and as you slowly get the hang of it, play through a small part that includes those notes, start out slow and then slowly get faster as you get more comfortable and your fingers get more comfortable with the finger placements :)

Can anyone help me with the strumming pattern?
@kailynbailey51804 ай бұрын
For me I found that just strumming down was boring so I made a picking pattern for it. It’s 3-1-2-4. If you don’t know picking this is basically just plucking the 3rd, 1st, 2nd, and 4th string. You do want to try and match the tempo if you can. It’s quick easy and when you get to the bridge I switched G with Em and I liked how it sounded. *Note* This was how I played it but feel free to experiment and play around with it. ❤🎉
