Rook looks so regal with her shiny black feathers! It's also interesting seeing how big she is compared to you because I hardly ever see corvids with humans I forget how big all of the species in the family are.

We have a Harris Hawk at the local rescue named One-eyed-Jack. You guessed it! He only has one eye and is very territorial and squawks whenever you come near. We also have a raven named Raven, and she is a bit bigger than Rook, but LOVES eggs. She will stash them and when you come over she will jump down and grab it to show it off! XD I'm glad you provide these guys such a good home! Love from the West Coast!

I just want to let you know that I have a female cat who perks up whenever she hears birds. She becomes super alert, like someone called her name or something. I tell people that she's fluent in bird. During this video her ears twitched and she looked around trying to find the birds. She does the same during the Bird Note Podcast. I have three cats and she's the only one that acts this way.

The world needs a video on Sprinkles! Parrotlets are so misunderstood, they're so sweet and affectionate. People think they're mean because they're less forgiving to poor handling. But just because they're more likely to bite from poor handling, doesn't make poorly handling cockatiels better. Or parrotlets meaner.

I *Used* to have birds, but I had allergies to them and they were getting to be to much for me to handle. Here's what I had. Mango: Cockatiel, she was friendly but didn't love being held. Kiwi: Cockatiel, she was a sweet little wiggleworm. Andy: Cockatiel, he was about 12 and was mean as fire. Bit the snot out of you anytime you touched him. He had been given to Petco, where we adopted him. Barney: Cockatiel, he was my moms bird, and when she got him the first time she held him he bit the snot out of her. After about 2-3 years he opened his cage door and flew away.. :( Charlie: My first Budgie. He wasn't my favorite, but I did like him. He died. :( Coconut: My second Budgie. She was a biter. Planktin: My last Budgie He was a snot!

*I have 18 parrots!!* I HAD 12 but one recently passed away and now I only have 11. Although it seems a lot it’s really fun to own so many. I love them all and I think we can both agree that I wouldn’t trade my birds for anything!!

I love your haircut Jessi! And thanks for showing us all the birds! I'm always curious about all the animals you have. In past videos, you've mentioned a pigeon flock. Do you still have a flock? Are these also rescues that can't live in the wild?

alicattor1469 About an hour after filming I actually yelled out loud "I forgot the pigeons!", so yeah we still have them, a flock of 14 beauties.

You say surprisingly common, but it's still rare compared to heterosexual pairings. And I hope I don't have to explain the obvious reasons why it's that way. This isn't to say that homosexuality is unnatural or anything, but please don't use misleading evolutionary biology to justify that. It just has to occur at all in nature for it to be natural. Even if it's just in humans, it's still natural. And being natural does not make it any more right or wrong, so it's ridiculous to even try to pander to that reasoning. There's nothing wrong with homosexuality because it doesn't inherently harm anyone. The naturalness or commonality in other species does not factor in this moral argument one bit. And trying to even humor that sort of reasoning gives ammo to those homophobes. The only response you should give to someone saying "homosexuality isn't natural" is "Neither are cars. I bet you drive though." On a side note, birds as a class are kinda strange when it comes to sexuality and reproduction. Ducks are fucking weird.

Yup pigeons (along with many other animals) can pair bond with the same gender. There is an incomplete list on Wikipedia of birds bonding with the same gender. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_birds_displaying_homosexual_behavior
