Since cameraman Mark Hilton, 32, began drinking, seven of his estate's eight pubs have shut.

I'm back in Manchester after 15 years. Last weak i was waiting at traffic lights, looking around when i realised there used to be a pub on every corner of the junction i was at. Now there's none, all demolished.

It’s a different world now. There’s plenty of pubs in the centre of Middleton but Langley strictly has no boozers anymore. Because they’ll drink them dry every night!

It's tragic, price of ale and the smoking ban and the fact that you can get a case of 24 cans for the same as 4pints in a boozer have killed off the pub trade,its sad

Where I live pubs haves closed and takeaways have opened but I suppose its better than being left to rot

What pubs are not around in Langley there are pubs in walking distance from there including a 17th century pub called the olde boars head.Theres plenty to do in the middleton area,gott a massive Tesco and very big leisure centre,plenty of shops a bus station and more pubs.Stop whingeing and make the most of where you live.

Back in the 80s when I was an 18 year old going to pubs, they were busy every night. Didnt matter what town, everyone went to the pub or at least it seemed like that in those days. Great fun but now a lot of those sort of pubs have closed because people have other choices in life. I spent 30 years down the pub, didnt really get me anywhere and now im 53 trying to make something of my life.
