The origins stories are more about introducing the heroes with whatever lore they choose to share about that hero than actually being about how the character itself came into origin but they do sometimes use the actual background story as the introduction as well.

To this day, people all agree that Sigma's origin story is the best one. They capture his descent into madness REALLY well. If you don't know, the whole point of Sigma's character is that his mind became mentally broken after his experimentation with black holes had gone wrong, which caused severe damage to his surroundings, hence why he was being restrained and imprisoned. Talon, the evil organization that Reaper, Widowmaker and Sombra work for, broke him out during his transport and took advantage of his mental state to use him for their own gains. The only one who's genuinely kind to him and does their best to protect him in his circumstances is Sombra. The reason why he asks after a melody is that, while he was working on his experiments, he was playing a specific song over the speakers or radio or whatever, and it was playing when everything went wrong. Now, in his current state, he doesn't remember where the song comes from, and believes it's the universe's attempt to communicate with him, hence why he says: "The universe is singing to me!" and "What is that melody?!" The story is really terrifying, but once you know this background information, it's just sad to see him so terrified and confused.

Giving some context to some stuff on the overwatch lore: The "main" organizations that i know of are, overwatch, talon and null sector. Talon, on what i guess is oversimplification, they´re the bad guys, members i know on this group are Moira, Reaper, Widow, Sombra, Doomfist and Sigma Null Sector as you saw on the ramattra origin story, "defends" omics rights to live on the world, with extreme methods 😅. overwatch you know the most about but as i understand was created to fight the omic crisis war, letter they were kind of like the avengers, there was a division that did their "Dirty work" called blackwatch, members of this group were cassidy, moira, reaper, and genji, from the ones we know and can play. Then think the whole "lets disband overwatch" thing happened. Latter at the beginning of overwatch 2 the group got together again with the new members like Mei and Brigitte to face the new world threats Know stuff about characters that you didn't noticed or didn't know: - Ana is Pharah's mom, yes that was widow on her origin story, and she hesitated because se knew her, i think they used to work together - Widow was experimented on by i assume Moira but I'm not sure, they made her heart beat slower so she could be a great snipper, that's why she's blue, also i think they make her kill her own husband - Sombra currently works for Talon but only out of convenience as far as i know, really she only works for herself - Genji was almost killed by Hanzo as it's said on the cinematic, the exact lore i don't know but i think the suit is needed for him to be alive, kind of like darth vader. when the accident and after blackwatch i think he became zenyatta's pupil which made him accept who he is now, helped him heal his mind, make amends and forgive his brother - Baptist worked for Talon, the evil organization, but he only did it for survival until he realized it was wrong so he took his own path - Sigma also works for Talon but because of his condition he is not very mentally stable and it's said he's mostly being manipulated by Talon to do bad stuff, but really he's not bad or good just confused and mentally ill. also if you play the video of sigma's origin story backwards you can hear him say some stuff that he said on the same video like, "release me", nothing very important but a very cool detail - My theory on echo and i don't know if it's obvious or not is that being her "Echo" to me means that she might have transfered some of her consciousness to Echo, but it's just my personal theory - On the Kiriko origin story the two guys that appear those are genji and hanzo, which were trained by kiriko's mom, there's actually some in-game interactions between Kiriko and the Shimada brothers talking about the past, Genji and Kiriko i think are about the same age - When Ramattra studied the ways of meditation he became very close to Zenyatta they consider themselves almost like brothers, and their master was Mondatta, basically like the Dalai Lama of omnics, he was killed on the cinematic in which Widow and Tracer appear. And that's all i have, i'm by no chance a lore expert but i just wanted to share what i know and what i considered to be interesting for you to know

That said, here are some summaries and answers to your questions if you dont want to go looking: -Tracer's origin was shown during a live event but for whatever reason was never posted to the YT channel so all we have is a reuploaded recording. -Morrison was part of a super-soldier program, Captain America style, deemed Soldier 76. Along with Soldier 24, aka Gabriel Reyes who would one day become the Reaper, Morrison was recruited to be part of the original Overwatch strike team to fight in the first war against the Omnics (the second is the "current" one thats been brewing in the background and that the upcoming story missions will be about) -One of the giant factories mass producing Omnics blew up during the war, creating the irradiated wasteland in Australia that would eventually result in all the maniacs that are the Junkers and Wastelanders. -Ana was an elite sniper from Egypt. recruited for her skills to be part of the initial Overwatch strike team in the first war. On a mission post-war, she ran into Widowmaker, who she hesitated to kill because Ana recognized her as the wife of another Overwatch agent (not in the game). Widowmaker was kidnapped and brainwashed to be an assassin. -There aren't any kids in the game, the youngest is Dva at 19. Although there are references to Efi, Orisas creator, in some sprays and voice lines. -The Kings Row Uprising was an intro for a PvE gamemode from Overwatch's first year. It was a retelling of one of Overwatch's mission towards the end of the organization's lifespan, after the inital war. It's the more or less the precursor to the story missions that are coming, the beginning of the second war and Null Sector, led by Ramattra (although we had no idea who that was at the time of it's release) -Doomfist was a martial arts expert who lost his arm in the first war. His parents owned a prosthetics company so he was fine, but still distraught enough to seek out a new purpose. He was recruited to Talon by the Doomfist of the time, where he rose the ranks and eventually usurped his mentor, taking his role as leader and title/gauntlet, the Doomfist. He uses Talon now to try to plunge the world into war and chaos, with the goal of creating a better humanity in the process by forging it in fire. -Moira was initially recruited to Overwatch, but eventually moved to Blackwatch, their black ops division, due to the main organization's disdain for her ethics. Her experiments on Reyes/Soldier 24 were the beginnings of what would become Reaper. Reyes was also responsible for recruiting Cassidy, offering him a deal to either join up or rot in prison after a heist gone wrong with Ashe's gang. Genji was another Blackwatch member, saved from the brink of death at the hand of his brother by Mercy, resulting in his cyborg body. He would eventually be transferred to the main Overwatch strike team following controversial Blackwatch missions. After the fall of Overwatch, Cass and Genji went their separate ways while Moira and Reyes/Reaper joined Talon. (Moira had nothing to do with Doomfist's origin) -Brigitte is Torbjorn's daughter, and Pharah is Ana's daughter. It was also Torb's wife, not Mercy, in the background lol -When Winston' escaped the moon base, Wrecking Ball hooked his own pod to the ship and eventually landed in Junkertown, where he became a champion of the ring with his mech. -B.O.B. stands for Big Omnic Butler! -Sigma isnt exactly evil, but his insanity has rendered him generally unaware of his surroundings. Talon essentially manipulates him into using his powers for their own purposes. From the lines in game, it sounds like when he does have moments of clarity hes generally a very nice and polite person. -Sojourn had lots cybernetic implants very early due to an autoimmune disease. As she grew more comfortable with them, she upgraded them and used them to her advantage to become a great soldier. She was there for the start of the first war, and although she wasnt recruited for Overwatch until later, she did work with them from the very beginning as part of the Canadian military. -Ramattra was created in the midst of the first war, to help lead the other Omnics and military drones on the battlefield. Following the war, he got tired of seeing other Omnics mistreated and decided to do something about it creating Null Sector and starting a revolution, the Kings Row Uprising. Following its failure, he teamed up with Talon, and is now planning the invasion that is about to take place in Overwatch's upcoming story missions.

If Blizzard decided to make an OverWatch anime, it has to be in the Doom Fist teaser style and as long as they don't change the story to much (In my opinion the should call McCree, Joel. Since that was a canon rename for him anyway and use the comic, the teasers, AND the game for materials) they might be able to make back the money they lost from OV 2. They 100% cannot have children be apart of overwatch in game. This is true for every other hero shooter as well. Dv.A was supposed to be 16 in Overwatch 1. They had to change her age to 18 because companies don't want to be associated with risky pictures of minors. The problem is since rule 34 exists it's better for companies to not have any children playable in the game because that could cause Blizzard problems in the future. If you look at games like Valorant the youngest character(Killjoy) is 19. That way no one can try to attack the company for it.

Tracer was an ace pilot and was testing a new type of plane that was going to be able to teleport through space. it malfunctioned and caused tracer to be teleporting in and out of time. fareehah is pharahs name. and her and ana are egyptian. Eefy the kid who made orisa is mentioned in many interactions. but yeah for gameplay wise they cant have kids. also its not very clear, but doomfist lost that encounter against winston, and him punching the wall is him breaking out. Moira did in fact create reaper. Sigma isnt evil, hes just crazy and talon is using him and taking advantage of him. also in the violence part of the clip, you hear reapers shotguns and widowmakers sniper rifle. also also watch the video backwards

She was the wife of an important Overwatch agent, Gerard Lacroix, who was working on hunting down the terrorist organization Talon (in-game, Widowmaker, Reaper, Doomfist, Sombra (kind of), Moira and Sigma are part of this). Talon did their best to kill Gerard, but couldn't manage. So they instead focussed on his wife. They kidnapped Amélie and tortured her. They brainwashed her into becoming a sleeper agent, who would kill her husband when his guard was down. Then she returned to Talon as instructed by her brainwashing, and was further modified into becoming a master assassin, Widowmaker. In Ana's origin story, we see her hesitating to shoot Widowmaker. This is because after shooting off her visor earlier during their confrontation, she now recognized Amélie, which shocked her enough to give Widow the chance to shoot first. The language in Ana's origin is Arabic. She and her daughter, Fareeha (Pharah) are Egyptian. Yes, that person in Moira's origin story is indeed Reaper. Gabriel Reyes was one of the founding members of Overwatch, and was in the same super soldier program as Soldier 76. During the time we see in the Moira origin, he was the leader of Overwatch's covert ops division: Blackwatch. The other two are Genji and Cassidy, both not so long after Overwatch recruited them. Moira and Reyes joined Talon. Genji and Cassidy stuck with Overwatch. Genji was recruited when he was nearly dead. Mercy saved his life by turning him into a cyborg, but he was pretty bitter about the whole thing. Reinhardt is also Brigitte's godfather. Of course, Rein's recklessness is what inspired her to join the fight herself. She became Rein's squire while he was out fighting bad guys on his own, but figured he needed someone by his side in battle more than he needed a mechanic.

The name of the the group opposing Overwatch is called Talon, an extremist terrorist group basically. Doomfist is one of it´s leaders. Widowmaker, Reaper, Sigma, Moira, and Sombra are all part of it. And Baptiste is an ex member that went rouge and opposed them.

I'm surprised no one told you yet seeing some people know a lot about the lore in your comments, I figured they would know about the circonstances around the game as well but : please, keep calling Cassidy as Cassidy and not McCree. Cassidy used to be named after one of Blizzard's employee, but that employee was found guilty of sexual offence. That's why they changed Cassidy's name to separate the character from the sexual offender and to show respect to the victims (if they still work at Blizzard, not have them work on the game and still see daily the noun of their offender, for example, or even online). Some macho sexist players are still butthurt about the name change and keep calling him McCree, even if it triggers sexual victims (these people calling him McCree while knowing are probably the same type of person that would keep calling a trans person by their deadname on purpose).
