While I agree fully with your opinion that Meta/Superhumans should not solely rely on their super powers, but could also highly benefit from learning how to be good hand-to-hand combatants or excellent strategists on top of it, there are some characters that would be better off not learning those things. A good example of this, is Spider-Man whom actually did learn martial arts in the comics and even evented his own unique fighting style that complimented his powerset, however, he honestly became a little too overpowered, cause with those skills, he was capable of stalemating and beating three separate people whom all had powers just like his, but with added buffs. One could literally see into the future, yet he was not only able to keep up with her, but match and stalemate her, despite her being able to see exactly what he will throw out in advance. The second was a literal clone of himself that had been seriously mutated and super amped, to the point of exceeding Spidey's physical capabilities by a crap ton and yet, he was not only able to match this severely juiced up clone but even fold him without too much trouble. And the third, was a highly trained hand-to-hand expert whom he openly admitted in the past couldn't beat in a hand-to-hand fight, but after getting his Spider-Fu skills, he could effortlessly wash her with little issue, mind you not only is she a highly skilled combatant with Spider-Powers just like him, but also has those same overpowered Venom Blasts that Miles Morales possesses. And he's not just beaten other spider characters, he's even been able to knock out Wolverine out cold, may I repeat KNOCK OUT WOLVERINE THE SAME GUY WHO CAN TUSSLE WITH THE HULK, SPIDEY WAS ABLE TO KNOCK HIS LIGHTS OUT. To be honest, Peter didn't really need that kind of buff, he was already a pretty good hand-to-hand fighter thanks to his powers, specifically his spider-sense, so giving him martial arts training, while may sound cool in theory, just made him unnecessarily overpowered as hell, thankfully the writer's forgot about it not too long after he got those skills, maybe because they themselves realized that they had made him too ridiculous for his own good.

If they do solo movie on Black Canary, I hope they let Mariah Carey play Jurnee's mother. In the comics, Dinah Drake is Dinah Laurel Lance's mother. Although the tv series Arrow has separated them from being related, they're still mother and daughter. It would be nice to see a movie go into Dinah Lance's past and show her mom working with the Gotham PD as the original Black Canary. 😉

My personal favorite is the JLAS version of her and I hate the arrowverse version of her. I think that the arrowverse turns characters inside out.

Some notable examples of characters ruined by the arrowverse are: Green arrow (they made him act like Batman which he isn’t), Flash (he acts nothing like the comic book version), Mr. Terrific, Black Canary ( of course), lastly killer frost.
