5:06 I don’t know how others feel about this, but for me I wasn’t really mad THAT Byleth was added, and more mad at WHEN she was added. I really don’t think they were a fitting character for the last slot of the first fighters pass. Like maybe they could have swapped positions with Banjo or Terry, or even a fighter from the second pass like Sephiroth or Pythra. Like imagine how hype it would have been if Sephiroth was the last fighter for FP1

Sephiroth is my #1 purely because no trailer came close to being as exciting as his. Like Sora was exciting when he was announced, but the trailer was meh. Sephiroth absolutely stole the show in his reveal and it made me way more excited for his reveal.

honestly i agree completely. i dont even play competitive smash, just against friends really, and i think joker is just the most smooth-playing character they’ve ever come out w lol. am i disappointed we didn’t get a better final smash for sora though?? I respectfully disagree with your opinion on Steve. I see his inclusion as Indie representation a side of gaming that hasn't been seen in smash before, as a playable character. As well as representing this new age of gaming. Now I'm not a big Minecraft player, I played it for a few years when it was early and hop back in occasionally when my friends are maybe once every 6 months or so. However I still think Steve was a major piece of western representation in the Museum of gaming history that is SSBU

The saddest part about the reaction to Byleth's inclusion is that some FE fans were equally anal about it. I've legit seen people argue that Byleth and Corrin should be left out of future smash games (despite them actually being more unique to play) while Roy and Lucina should be main stays. Also yes, Fire Emblem should totally have its own fighting game.

Honestly Joker definitely represents his franchise almost perfectly and the team really put a lot of work into him so along with him overall just having one of the top 3 Smash Ultimate reveals, i think he’s the best DLC character and definitely worth the money.

I never loved a list as much as this, the first ranking was already enough to justify friendship possible.

Its pretty obvious that Sakarai knows Sephiroth is the most BA character in the game. I mean, do you remember his release trailer? It was apparently said that (I don't know if this is actually true, but its something that I recall hearing about a while back), in the story mode, Bayoneta and Palutena were purposefully kept nearest to the final boss, because in universe, they were the ones who would have been the biggest threat to the big boss. Then they released Sephiroth's reveal trailer where he just completely and utterly trivializes the boss, one shotting him, then proceeds to solo the rest of the cast. Kirby survives by running for his life, then gathering up allies, while Sephiroth just one shots it. Yeah, Sephiroth was absolutely made to be the most BA character in universe.

Honestly, as someone who used to main Alex, grew up on Minecraft, unironically wanted Steve in the game, absolutely adored the references and how everything was done Yeah, Steve is lame as fuck

I'm a casual Sephiroth main and completely agree with this list. Steve is lame and including Min Min catered to no one. The whole point of Smash is iconic characters facing off. Including obscure characters is no different than any generic fighting game.

I'm just content that my least wanted character got fucked over by the mouse and square's restrictive copyright issues and censorship. That and only 3 mii costumes. But to be fair its far from the worst. The Dragon Quest got midis for all their tracks instead actual orchestrated music.
