I see it as an alternative timeline where Ultra M isn't Horror Mario's "Boss form", but some " Big shot" of every character we've met in the world. When Boyfriend and Girlfriend got trapped in the console, Ultra M also wasn't able to leave his own world. And so, when BF and GF have finally made it to him, Ultra M wasn't going to kill them, but made a deal with them to fight with all the creatures we've already fought (and Mr.Sys), and then break free from console. (I don't really know if Ultra M will be ready to take revenge against DD after all of that._.)
