You know what makes Cavill's first flight kind of funny? He's not just flying around, he's doing things any one of us would. Like getting really close to the ground, making the water separate, going under/through structures and so on.

You could see the excitement on Superman face....He was LOVING IT.... every Minute & every Second of it. Good job HENRY CAVILL. You did an AWESOME job as Superman & my favorite of the three was "Man Of Steel". To bad Zack Snyder didn't keep his promise that he would do a another movie at the 2013 Comic Con in December of 2013 that he was going to be doing another Superman movie "Man of Steel 2". The crowd went crazy. I just saw this old video yesterday May 5, 2020 & a person made a comment on the video & said that he was there when Zack made that statement. Here it is 7 years later & he never did do what he promised to give us, a Man of Steel 2.......

I hope its not just me, but every time MoS Superman's theme comes on it sends chills down my spine and fills you with emotion. Especially when Supes takes off breaking sound barriers. Fuckin UGHHHH!! Lol the flight scenes are the best parts of the movies IMO.

@@RANCE22808 Not really...both versions reach escape velocity in seconds so their moving in excess of 11,000 m/s or Mach 32 to reach orbit. Which even the George Reeves and Christopher Reeves version Superman could do as well. Christopher Reeves's Superman is by far the fastest since break the time barrier.

Superman returns will always be my favorite Superman movie. Routh was just so gentle and his flight is so fluid. The score is absolutely looked over and imho, absolutely beautiful.

This is why Man of Steel is masterpiece from any perspective. Visuals , music and story. I love how Cavil's Superman is in the beginning struggling to use those powers. He wasn't taught , he had to explore himself literatelly . The idea that he didn't know how to use those powers makes him that more human compared to what humans thought of him , as a god . We don't see that in majority of super hero movies .

Bro i say this for years. Man of steel is an absolute masterpiece, for me its the best superhero film of all time. 10/10 score 10/10 visuals 10/10 fight scenes 10/10 writing. People who hate this have no clue about filmmaking. Every character decision makes sense but little kids come up with "thats not how superman should be"

The only issues are that his father’s death scene was contrived, and the end fight has him deliberately crashing into buildings and stuff instead of leading Zod away from Metropolis. Other than that, I really like Man of Steel

Man of Steel was, in my opinion the best Superman movie ever made. Damn Supes flight sequences were intense. As much as I didn't care too much for returns, it had some good stuff. I mean, after all it's still a Superman movie and if it happens to be on I probably will watch it because I love Superman. I still think MoS was the best DCEU movie and it clearly had some of the most astounding visuals I've ever seen in a comic book film.

Tbh, I like both flying styles from both films. The flying in Superman Returns is more peaceful and gentle while the flying in MoS is more epic and badass. That being said, I can understand why some may like the flying scenes in Superman Returns more, and I can understand why some may like the flying scenes in MoS more. But for me, like I said, I like both flying styles. I can't choose one because they're great and unique in their own ways.

Man of Steel is quite easily the best Superman movie. It shows how truly powerful he is, and yet it shows how flawed of a person he is. He isn't upbeat, he is powerful, authoritative, and he is learning. This movie is an origin. Superman must discover himself and his motivation to fight. Reeve's Superman never went through that, Routh's Superman never went through that. This movie had to be more mature and a bit darker to separate itself from Marvel's films. The score was perfect, the casting was perfect. The movie may not be, but no Superhero film is. You have to accept that Superman is different now, and I think that's for the better, because despite the darker tone, Superman was still a savior and a symbol of hope.

Reeve was fantastic. I will always miss his smile. Cavill is the only Superman besides him that I can watch although I did kind of feel for routh because he honestly wasn't that bad and he was basically doing a Reeve tribute. Hopefully going forward we will get to see cavill let out his charisma as Superman when he comes back in Justice league. Can't forget about Reeve though it was him who made me love Superman when I was a kid and I've loved the Character ever since.

Thanks for putting this together Johnny. My wife and I watch this clip with our 2yr old son almost every day to help entertain him while he completes his 'sensory meals' to help with his SPD. Both movies were good, but I like the way Henry Cavili ( spelling? ) did his own version of Superman. Brandon Routh was, to me, a Christopher Reeve carbon copy. I like the Reeve-era Superman movies,but it was cool to see some originality in Man of Steel. Just my opinion.

Ah yes! The godfather of all Superheroes showing how he inspired entire generations of youngsters with his iconic flight abilities. Ruling the superhero genre for 50+ years with no real competition, he helped ingrain the need for a sense of imagination in world-wide culture. The ability to reach beyond the stars (something lacking in today's world). He may not be the currently most popular character, but he will always be the one respected for ushering in the entire genre for both comics and movie-verse. Heroes may rise & fade, but there will always be Superman standing at the end of the day.

What I do like about the flying scenes in Superman Returns and Man of Steele is that you can appreciate how fast Superman can fly...I do love every time he breaks the sound barrier.

+Sahyl You can like Man of Steel, but it is generally the more popular opinion that it isn't a great film. And it definitely doesn't come close to Iron Man, Winter Soldier, Avengers, or Guardians of the Galaxy. And while they are opinions, it actually is a fact those are more popular movies.

Man of Steel was great in the theater, and it's a Superman movie you have to see a few times to "get it". Once you've seen it a few times you start to get it, and once you get it, it's one of the best Superman movies.

Amazing how much better the experience is without the terrible plots and dialogue. I've gotta say though as much as I like the flying scenes in Man of Steel. The flying in Superman Returns seems so much more fun and graceful. Especially how the camera follows his movements.

Man of steel movie is way ahead of time. VFX scenes are great even in 2020 very few movies have this kind creative VFX. Synder has accurately represent the power of Superman in man of steel and batman v Superman.

+Simple X. I am just going to say, Snyder could've made this epic but he settles for only good. I would've loved to see Clark flying before he wears the suit and kinda hoped for a mixture Birthright, Secret Origins and Earth one storyline with Zod still as the main antagonist.

The flying sequences in Superman Returns were great and easy on the eyes. Those in Man of Steel were chaotic and hard to follow what with the shaky camera method of filming.

Yeah, it's mostly the same in BvS. He just shoots up and creates a sonic boom, and it gets boring.

Well said, mate! Just because something is done recently doesn't mean its better than a version that was done many years ago. Same can be said for a a cooking process. New process doesn't mean better than an earlier method!
