Lyrics:
I secretly crave, crave that scent again
Still feel lit pressing on me now
Now with the onset, myflesh is weakening
I steel my nerves for temptations at hand again
And I hear this calling still you don't seem so far at all
And I hear this calling
No secrets, deception for these would tear this down
I'll note the past spare the pain
Words match my deeds with brutal honesty
Never forget these choices were made by me
And I hear this calling still you don't seem so far at all
And I hear this calling out
Not falling victim to the fire that burns inside of me
Though I am fearful I will not prevent this tragedy
My strengths been tested I wear the scars that prove
Still I believe that this calling will see me through

This was the first metal album I learned how to play on guitar. Sat in my dads shop for like 2 weeks learning it when i was 14. If you're just learning, this is perfect for you. It's a good blend between the old style and the new style of metal. The picking is very dynamic & it actually sounds good. Most bands nowadays don't blend the screaming and singing very well but All that remains blended it together perfectly.

In 2007 I was a Top 40's and bubblegum pop kind of girl and I was introduced to this kind of music by my boyfriend who was a bassist in a metal band. I never realised what I had been missing all those years listening to the crap music on the radio! This Calling is what sealed the deal for me. That double bass is INSANITY. The bassist and I are no longer together but I thank him all the time for opening my eyes (and ears) to a whole new world of music.

When I was driving home from my volunteer service I heard on the radio that Oli Herbert from All That Remains died recently I was shocked after hearing it. I feel utmost sorry for their loss. May the band take their time mourning for their member and friend. My thoughts and condolences goes to the band and Oli Herbert’s family. R.i.p man you will be missed Oli. 😔
