Sheila Escobar makes a living traveling to craft shows across New York. Her pincushions, purses and ornaments are marked by vibrant bursts of color - a modern take on the traditional patterns of her ancestors. At the Iroquois Indian Festival in Schoharie, she pauses to reflect on how her art helps connect the missing pieces of a long-lost Haudenosaunee heritage.
