I've read all of the True Colors books. I loved and kept all of them except one, maybe two. Each time I finished a book, I had to jump down the rabbit hole of the crime it was based on. 😂 I loved this video. ❤

As a quilter, I have read and thoroughly enjoyed all of the Jennifer Chiaverini quilt books. The one you mentioned has been on my list since it came out 😅. I've never heard of Laura Frantz, I think I would like her from what you said. The D.E. Stevenson (Mitzi has mentioned her several times on her channel) book looks good too! Thank you for sharing and happy reading 📚!!

I do enjoy Laura Frantz. She writes lovely historical fiction typically set in early colonial America. Yes, there are a couple BookTubers who have really sung D E Stevenson's praises so I'm anxious to try her books.

I don't think I've ever read 'The Scarlet Pimpernel' but own it. I need to read that. And I've never read a Laura Frantz but want to. I'm writing my review for 'Becoming Mrs. Lewis right now. I was disappointed in what it turned out to be. I predict that you won't care for it.

You'll love Listening Valley. Super encouraging. The White City was intriguing- Not the best of that series but it was fun. I didn't really like The Blue Cloak--it's brutal. Even my mom was shaken by it, and nothing bothers mom. My favorites in that series were The Green Dress and The Gray Chamber (Nellie Bly inspired). EEEP! Out of the Easy??? MUST HAVE IT! The Book Thief is sooo good. Did not care for Becoming Mrs. Lewis but I LOVED Once Upon a Wardrobe--LOVED it. I just learned about one today about the horses in Poland during WWII and how Patton and some army volunteers got these amazing horses out before Russia invaded. Until Our Time Comes by Nicole M. Miller

I was coming to add the same things about Listening Valley (and Celia's House is one of my favorite DES books) and the Patty Callahan books. I rad Once Upon a Wardrobe first and LOVED it!! But then I started Becoming Mrs. Lewis and got really discouraged by it. I DNF'd it. I'm so glad I didn't read it first or I wouldn't have read the other and would have missed out. I haven't read any of the others.

@@ChautonaHavig How funny you should ask. I just DNF'd it. Not because I didn't like it, but it was just taking me too long to get invested in the story and I felt in the mood for something else. I'd like to go back and finish it though. What did you think?

Hmmm we'll see if I ever feel up for The Blue Cloak. The White City was fun, nothing dark and no difficult content really. Although I'll admit I skimmed some parts that might have been scary (not b/c they were scary but b/c I wanted to get to the end lol).

I was not aware that CS Lewis was married. From some of his other writings I guess I just took it that he was never married. Must be he wrote that before he was married. Interesting. I also gather from the beginning of your video. You're not a big fan of that room. 😂
@insearchofwonder
@insearchofwonder 29 күн бұрын
I believe he was married much later in life. And not for very long, because if I'm not mistaken, his wife died of cancer. I think I am remembering that correctly. Hoping that room will be a much more pleasant place by the end of July!
