This movie resonated with me as I went away from God for a marriage partner. It’s a lot more complicated than I can explain here, but because of our human tendency to sin, I turned away from God, my marriage was a disaster and I was as unhappy as this lady in the film. Only, my husband and I didn’t resolve our issues, our sons were badly damaged by the divorce and I bitterly, bitterly regret my disobedience to God. We should keep God in the centre of our lives always and pray about every decision we make. I’ve asked for God’s forgiveness, but I struggle to forgive myself. I live with a lot of regrets.

I was married in a similar situation and struggled with forgiving myself. The Lord Jesus through my pastor showed me that he Jesus loves and forgives us because he is a good and loving Savior nothing we do will ever be good enough. I pray you have accepted his forgiveness.

From the beginning, they should never have been unequally yoked just as what God’s Word says. She was disobedient to God in marrying an unbeliever. Her desire to follow her own will blinded her, leading her to not be discerning. None of the preachers, even her mother addressed this matter. Light and darkness can never work together. The movie ended wonderfully in that the husband got saved. God was merciful and gracious. There is always hope in the Lord.

Well, we must be led by the spirit of God either way. Hosea was instructed by God to marry a prostitute. I'm sure church people probably assumed he was leaning to his own understanding as well. I know what scripture says, but I also know that we are to be led by the spirit of God for ourselves. I have just now started the film. So I will see what happens. Yes. There are times we tend to go through a lot of pain and heartache as believers due to not seeking His face but that isn't always the case.

I saw a tragedy at a church I used to attend: the woman who headed their Sunday school insisted her daughter's boyfriend join the church before they got married. He told me he didn't believe that religious stuff, and he was only joining to marry her. I was sad because I felt the future marriage was doomed to fail, and the girl's mother was forcing an atheist to pretend to be a Christian. I don't try to force anyone to believe in God any more. I moved away, I don't know how long this marriage lasted.

I was getting a little nervous in the middle seeing the woman was a religious wife, the man was an abusive husband, that pastor smith was a works based hypocritical pastor which didn’t help the woman much, and the mom seemed to be the only one somewhat doing the right thing she had her flaws too. But the ending was BEAUTIFUL & I’m so grateful (although it’s just a movie) that they truly found Jesus Christ and chose to obey Him. Praise the Lord!!!!

There's nothing worse than divorce. I experienced a similar situation years ago, much like this movie. Although I was much worse than this lady. I was self- centered and bitter and my heart turned cold toward my husband. We divorced and it was the absolute worst thing that could have ever happened. It practically destroyed our children and horrible things happened. I realize now, it all could have been prevented if I'd turned to the Lord and prayed for help. But it didn't even enter my mind. My heart was too bitter. God's word says bitterness is a foothold for the enemy and it's so true. But God is so amazing! Ten years went past and the entire time, my husband was waiting for me. The Lord was working on my heart (He's so merciful and long-suffering) and He showed me my sin and praise His Name, my husband and I reconciled and our family is back together. All praise to The Lord Most High!

I think she had every right to want to get divorced. He was beating her, probably sleeping with other women. God doesn’t want people to suffer like that. The mom was super annoying telling her to submit while she has a black eye. Ugh

It's the turning point from 1:12:08 This is a very well written movie. It shows human flaws, exactly where they go wrong and what consequences they face when they leave God out in their lives. But God being merciful and loving mends all their broken parts and holds them together and gives them true happiness. That pastor smith guy wasn't how a pastor should be. The other two really helped the couples get right with God again. ( Nevertheless i don't know why I'm watching this movie being an unmarried but I liked it)

The one Pastor kept telling her that he had to do something really bad before she could file for Divorce but beating on one's wife and having the kids witness the behavior isn't good for the kids either , because it becomes their normal and generations can become damaged by the Abuse. they were young and hormonal, just like a lot of us. No brothers or Dad making Jack-ass accountable. She ignored many red flags and so did he, lying to God and themselves. It happens ALL THE TIME.

How come everything’s HER fault-not just in the movie, but even in the comment section. So HE treats her bad, but she should have known better? Good hearted people always assume the other person must be like them, down deep in there somewhere-so they keep giving the other person more chances. When they FINALLY realize that the other person is not like them and actually has no conscience-then everyone STILL attacks them & blames them for TRYING so hard or STAYING so long. From the moment the mother looked ^passively at her abused daughter with the huge black eye she got from being struck that first time by her husband and said" you must submit" I knew this wasn't the movie for me. At the end - did he apologize ever? She put all the blame on herself and he just sat there and agreed! she said they still had problems to this day. Well, true - who doesn't? But could some of those problems also be that one prayer asking God pardon doesn't always make abusive people stop short and change overnight without ever having special counselling?

The only thing that can be commented on this film is the foolishness of this girl in thinking that she could change a man who never wanted to accept Jesus Christ as his Savior and was just a hypocritical Pharisee. She was certainly pushing on too hard by trying to turn this stupid, mediocre being into a true Christian. But her choice proved to be of worse taste and did much damage to her own Christian life. She married an empty, empty box that could be filled with anything else less Jesus Christ. A mixture of this nature never results in a good thing as there is no communion between Light and darkness.

Women aren't perfect either. They are far from it. Women need to be standing in the gap and choosing to fast and pray for their husband if they are being led by the spirit to do so. You are to even be praying for him well before you meet. That is a part of our role, and responsibility has helpmeets and wives. That was a part of the issue with the movie as well. You can't just throw Bible scriptures at people and expect them to truly change. Some things ONLY come out by fasting and praying. I happened to come across a channel on KZfaq a few days ago, and there were ladies on there. They were blasphemous. Talking about how Christianity was made to keep women down. And how come God can't be a woman or some type of nonsense. There are countless lost souls/people all over the world. It is not just men. It is fasting and praying time for sure. Constantly. We are to pray without ceasing. We are to pray one for another. The strong must bear the infirmities of the weak. Prater changes things. Not nagging, complaining, judging, or condemning.

This movie is telling it's viewers to Love your spouse more than you Love God, it's understandable that some Christians get unequally yoked and get married and have kids but physical and verbal abuse and the mother is still telling her to submit to him?? Get outta here with that trash! Made me so upset and want to jump through the screen and put that guy in his place. NO MAN SHOULD EVER PUT HIS HANDS ON ANY WOMAN, There comes a point in your marriage that you have to choose a side, God or your spouse? They even made the ending all peachy as if there's always a happy ending. STOP IT! I do believe he could have came to Christ but are you supposed to bet your life and your children's lives on it?? NEVER. I'm more than certain that if he struck his wife, then eventually he would have struck his children as well. Shame on the directors and actors of this so called movie. SHAME! I think the movie was showing how a lot of people who say they are Christian's operate from a religious mindset. Oppose to choosing to develop a relationship with Christ. The mother was giving advice from a religious mindset. Even when the young woman first met him and told him that she couldn't go to the movies because she is a Christian. Stemmed from a religious mindset. That influences people that you have to be perfect in order to earn God's love or your way to heaven. I think it can teach and show you various things that you need to know. The young lady was more consumed with marriage, husband, children, and the so-called perfect life and American dream. More than she actually was in love with God, His word, His will, and His way. Christianity isn't about just making us happy all of the time and just feeling all bubbly or whatever. It is about a lifestyle and choosing to be sold out to God above ALL things first and foremost. The movie is showing that the young lady adopted this mindset from her mother, culture, and perhaps even the church. Because a lot of leaders in ministry don't really understand the word and lead people down the wrong path. In some case, it is intentional. I pray your strength in the LORD IN JESUS' NAME. THE NAME ABOVE ALL NAMES. AMEN. GOD TRULY DOES LOVE AND CARE FOR YOU AND SO DO I. AND DON'T YOU EVER FORGET IT IN JESUS' NAME. AMEN.
