Omg! What happened on the zip line? I’m not on the boat right now. How are you enjoying it?

@@TRAVELBARBERLIFE Oh man, this week was crazy for sure. An elderly man had a heart attack on the ship’s zip line, he had already passed away by the time he reached the end. That was day 3, so I can’t even imagine what his family was going through for the rest of the cruise. And of course, at Costa Maya, one of the lines holding the ship to port snapped…and a linesmen fell into the water. A few other linesmen were injured too I think :( The weather was pretty intense and the waves were super choppy, so quite a few of the performances onboard got cancelled. The winds on board were like nothing I’ve ever seen, I saw kids almost get blown off the windjammer deck because it was whipping around the ship! Spring break madness was in full effect, we had our baby boy (8m) with us so it was interesting navigating our small stroller around the crowds/in the elevators 😭 We did our best to enjoy the experience, but we did encounter many rude passengers. It was a really bad situation with the elevators, super crowded and the windjammer was overwhelmed during every meal! We had many seasoned cruisers tell us that this was not the normal experience for this ship or others within the royal fleet that they had been on. They urged us to not give up on cruising again. Even though it was kinda crazy, I definitely want to try a smaller ship during a less busy season, and probably leave our baby boy with the grandparents until he is a bit older 😂

@@FA12TH-hf212 Wow! I wouldn’t have mind being on that cruise for content purposes. But I understand your concerns otherwise. Definitely don’t give up and leave the kid at home next time. What were the rude people doing? I’ll be on Freedom Apr 5-12 with our kids this time. They’re 9 & 11, and I already have a feeling that i would rather cruise without them. We’ll see if there are a lot of spring breakers.
