I think that Saturn was trying to find a way to get a Devil Fruit to give its power to multiple people, but it failed because when he did what he did the fruit became useless.

Technically since water only saps the strength from a devil fruit user (usually resulting in them sinking), a ship with a devil fruit power would still float but have no strength to move on it's own.

I think the reason Bonney didn't use the fruit was because she wasn't at the "age of reason" where she could conceptualize the future at that point, which is why she suddenly grew older without warning. the age of reason is typically considered to be about 6-7 so it works out in my head

this makes me want to see Vegapunk's failed experiments and weird byproducts he ended up with testing devil fruits and such, like a metal cow walks by and Vegapunk is like "this was a devil fruit extraction machine I made, but the machine gained the cow cow fruit....so yeah it became sentient. She's a nice cow so I keep her around".

The way I seen it, Saturn was messing with bonnys mind, making her doubt nika, saying that the more bonny admits reality, the less her power works, so Saturn said that to make bonny less imaginative with her power. Like I'm sure when bonny become like 99 years old, she cant use distorted future cause her future at the end of her lifespan is very limited, and there isn't a distorted past she can create, her powers at 99 years old can make her age young and old of course, but only to the previous years she naturally was. Well we knew, there was a way to get Items to get Devil Fruit powers, like how a Sword could transform into an Elephant. The ability to extract the essence of a fruit (maybe on liquid form or gas) that later was used to cover an object like a Sword that absorbed it n gets it powers. After all they been working on multiple ways to replicate n insert those powers to a variety of things from living creatures to inanimate objects, so having a way to extract those powers/essences from the fruit would be one of the earliest things to do.

I have been thinking that same question about ships eating devil fruits and i have concluded that unless a ship is considered many objects it should work since devil fruit users get paralyzed in water and can't swim and sink that way, but a ship is already kind of paralyzed but doesn't need to move to stay afloat like a person does and that's my headcanon.

I thought the implication was that, due to process through which they got fruit powers into bunny, it is "useless" now it a sense of "it won't be reborn once Bonney dies". Whatever they did fundamentally fucked with essence of the fruit.

Well you could always add pectin to make a light fruit gelatin and then froth it to make a foam. Also if you're absolutely insane you could take the juice heat it until it becomes a gas and then keep heating it until it reaches its plasma form and then vent it at yourself, the heat and pressure would destroy your "flesh barrier" forcing the plasma to burn through your cells until they start combining through fusing. It would be so painful but not the last form possible as you could just keep adding pressure and heat until you reach super fluidity at which point it would be like ghost juice.... which I'm not sure how you could consume but it would surely be a rough experience.

Random thought, because how you can inject a “sword” with “elephant” then it leads to reason that the idea of the “concept” when discussing Devil Fruits is important. Concepts mean things to different people differently. Could the D genuinely be for Destiny because it means different things to different people and Luffy’s was “wherever and however” hence why he got the Free-Zoan. Blackbeard has his destiny, Law his and so on. Also why if we ever see someone new use a fruit we’ve already seen ala BB’s crew, then it can mean something completely unique to the individual because of how they view the concept. Some things will be set in stone because of the inherent “will” of an idea, but others will be extremely flexible….. sorry, I think these tangents are contagious.

From what I understand. Its all about Replacing what the DF does. Zoans are easy to replicate, since all they require is the DNA even Ancient Zoans. Though Mythical Zoans are a lot more tricky. They may require the base DNA of a certain Zoan then ontop of that adding additional powers that "would" make it mythical, depends on the person I guess. Paramencia require a nonstop flow of "green blood" Require the Blood of the Current User of the DF and modifying that blood, so you can circulate the powered up blood through an "object" and in this case a PX. And Logias might be currently impossible or require the power to harness Nature itself. The closest thing we have is Kizarus Light via Light Beams. Vega Punk is close but not close enough to solve it. More than likely the Ancient Kingdom figured it out. Since well... They did have Ancient weapons that can control Nature or Terrorform the planet. ( Im the believer that the Ancient weapons were originally made to help and support the ancient civilization(s) of the past, but sadly it was turned against them.)

It makes sense that Bonnie found the power at six because six is the age at which human are conscious of their own existence (based on my philosophy class over 20 years ago) So she would be aware of herself and therefore the fruit existence within her at 6

One question I have is the goal of the research Saturn was conducting. What he achieved with Bonney is literally just the same as if she would have eaten the DF herself if she was a bit older. The DF itself also became useless as Saturn mentioned, so that says to me one of the goals of using fruit extract was to maybe get more than one "user" out of just one fruit. Maybe he got a bunch of fruit extract from the age-age fruit and tried giving that extract to multiple people and babies at the same time. No one showed evidence of having the power AND the fruit got used up so it looked like a failure. Little did he know it was lying dormant in one of the babies who eventually got chucked off of the redline with her mother 😢

It sould be noted what Saturn mentioned all his Experiments got Saphire Scales, and thats probably the Experiment what gave Bonney her Powers. I think St. Saturn calls Bonney's fruit useless as the elders are ashamed of it as that fruits user was Rocks D. Xebec who plotted to overthrew them but did not due to Rock's reckless nature. Xebec donated the fruits powers for Saturns experiment so he could have a lighter sentence on LV 5 and a new idenitity as Roche Thomson thanks to a sweetheart deal from Saturn himself.

Giving a DF to a ship should work. Zoan fruits can be turned (mostly) off, so the ship would be able to sail normally, and once on land it can activate the Zoan form and walk. You'd need a beach, of course, not a dock, but it should work unless there's a size limit

One issue about using something like a juicer or something for a devil fruit is that couldn't the juicer become a devil fruit user? It's probably a zoan only thing for an inanimate object to become a devil fruit but I feel the point still stands. Cause the process to turn an inanimate object into a devil fruit user has to be somewhat simple to do as there's the Tanuki teapot (Bunbuku) in Wano; I say this as I highly doubt that Bunbuku is over 800 yrs old (aka void century) as that's the last known/hypothesized time that advanced technology might have been available to Wano.

Heyy tekking, here's a fun little experiment you can do at home Take a regular grape ( green one ) cut it in half and microwave it, look carefully and you'll see it light up, that's because the energy from microwave machine is transfered to the tartatic acid in grape turning it into plasma I'd prefer to use a small grape because it can explode, you can just watch a video on it too

If it was intravenously, then what if what Saturn was trying to do is essentially create Green Blood or some kind of equivalent, to where powers can be replicated and swapped in and out of living organisms that already have blood flowing
