The only stupid thing about this sport is that many of the fighters do not stop them selves when the other guy is clearly out. Don't give me that crap that there is no other way. There are fighters that do stop on time and these are the true ones. They have controle over themselves at all time. A true fighter knows when it is time to stop hitting the other guy.

that's the referee's job. This isn't street fighting, this is a sport like you said and they do their job until they are told to stop.

you are so wrong. Some fighters do stop when they see the other one is done. Other just keep going. It is the difference between a man and a stupid adrenaline junk. @@keefer88

Every fighter is taught to not stop until the ref stops it. It great to praise the folks that can walk away, but trying to condemn the ones that are just doing what they are trained to do, is asinine.

'Trained to' is not an excuse. Then the training is wrong but most of all people have to keep thinking. All these guys are great sportsmen at a very high level. At these top levels they dedicate their lives to the sport. Blows after someone is unconscious can do a lot of extra harm. That is why they should stop right away. Also to train out stopping when the other one is down, is very not-human. Originally we have build in our system that we stop fighting when the other is down and surrendered. Evolution invented it to keep the social living species alive. @@dylanlong4152

Respect to those fighters who have self control and knows how to step away once their opponent is knocked down. They are the real professional fighters ❤ I can’t stand watching fighters who continue to beat the crap out of their opponent even though they’re already ktfo on the ground! I hate it more when the refs don’t step in smfh refs like that needs to be replaced. And fighters like that should get some kind of punishment or suspension because at that point, they’re just being assholess and taking advantage of the opponent who is KO.

Comments like this lack empathy and tells me you never been in a ring. You truly cant understand something like that happening until you’re in that situation. When you’re watching those guys fight there really isnt alot of thought. It there training coming to fruition. There bodies reactions to things are ingrained in them through days of gruesome work. If youve ever trained you know if your opponent falls to the ground get position and pound his face in lol. Sometimes you’re able to realize its not necessary but like i said alot of things are pure instinct. Sloth

Have to credit the referees for diving between the fighters to save the loser from taking unnecessary damage and risking themselves in the process.

That's their job. In ONE, they literally sprint and dive between them immediately. They're not really in much danger. Some, for sure. That's why many referees don't do this. And in UFC they take the cowardly route and push the aggressing fighter and pull him off, allowing them to land shots meanwhile. It's not going above and beyond. It's just doing their jobs. Unfortunately it's acceptable for them to not do their jobs. They out fighters at risk to avoid it themselves. Understandable, but not acceptable.

Nothing about being a woman, not sure why you mention that. As far as why most strike after the opponent is KO'd, it's because it happens very fast, they see an opponent falling and they want to finish it, without being aware that it is already over in fact. A lot of fighters have to have a mentality that it's a fight to the death in order to perform, they can't integrate kindness into their ideology or they will have reduced performance and then lose their fights. Hope it makes sense. It's only a few calm minded fighters that are able to recognise the fight is over and don't keep striking.

Its the referee who says when the fight stops. The fighters are trained to keep striking until the ref call the stop or they could lose their win.

THE WORST THING ABOUT THESE PEOPLE IS THAT THEY DON'T HAVE ANY SELF CONTROL WHEN IT IS OBVIOUS THAT THE OTHER PERSON IS TOTALLY KNOCKED OUT, YET THEY KEEP HITTING THE PERSON. THATS UPSETTING TO SEE 😢! YOU SHOULD KNOW WHEN A PERSON DROPS TO THE GROUND LIKE THAT IT MEANS THAT THEY ARE OUT COLD 😢!!

They are taught to not stop until the ref stops them. "Walk offs" have lost fights. At least it isnt boxing where they would stand half of them up and let them continue ffs. Let alone repeted soft hits (big gloves) has been shown to be worse for you than an equivalent big hit at a certain point, probably why boxers having CTE even more severe than many MMA fighters. Its a fighters job to go til the ref stops them or they feel a tap, and even then letting go entirely (aside from just releaving pressure to prevent injury) before the ref recognizes a tap can also lise you a fight, and has.

2:55 should be disqualified and count as a win for the unconscious fighter. He punches OVER AND AROUND the referee. That's assault at that point. The referee has waved the fight over and is lying on top of the downed fighter at this point, the conscious fighter decides to land more strikes. He has SECONDS to decide to do this and follow through. It is not a heat of the moment accident. Inexcusable. I don't see how you can justify this. He goes AROUND THE REFEREE. He can't deny that he knew the fight was over. The referee was in the way so he had to execute his punch to get around him. Way beyond poor sportsmanship. Should be disqualified and suspended. That's so egregious. In the other clips, it's just had sportsmanship. They punch UNTIL the referee pushes them off or covers the downed fighter. This asshole punches AFTER the referee has covered him. And he's not remotely in the act of throwing the punch already. He starts the lunch AFTER his opponent is already covered. Assault plain and simple.

All the scumbags that clearly knock their opponent out, then keep pounding away with hammer-fists are cowards and have no business being a professional fighter. They are thugs that have zero honor. To the honorable fighters that know their opponent is unconcious and don't deal further damage -- kudos to those fighters.
