Great job on the paint. It really makes each brick appear as an individual that was laid in there. Enjoying your vids. 😎👍

What you call “skimming” is traditionally called “Dry-Brushing”. Love the technique.

Lol! Tomato-tomato. I’m going to call you soon for some advice. I’m going to help my dad make a waterfall for his koi pond. I’m making some small rocks first to get the feel for the process and I want to make sure I’m using the concrete for the various layers. Talk to you soon. Cheers!

This is excellent. Here in NM at 7200 ft, it's a little cold to work on this without a heated shop but I plan to get started in the spring. Getting good ideas from you and appreciate it very much.

Love your teaching style and I am learning a lot. What is the best affordable sealer to use on fake rocks to diminish fading? Thank you

Thanks for your positive feedback and I really appreciate you taking the time to watch my video. As far as a good sealer you’re looking for 100% acrylic sealer this carried in the Celine base solvent there a lot of manufactures of this product Sonneborn makes a product called kur-n-seal 30 That’s readily available just Google it

I'm doing the exterior, permastone siding. If i use acrylic stain do i need to seal it? Thanks, in advance, for your help!
@fauxrock
@fauxrock Жыл бұрын
Regardless of what type of stain you use, you will always want to seal it so that it locks the color in and nothing else can further stain it and most acrylic stains are UV protectant so you’re staying won’t fade. Thanks for watching my video.👍

I wonder if it would be possible with something like this to have matching cardboard cutouts so you could airbrush certain rocks only. Might look cool? This already looks amazing.

It’s actually not a bad idea… I really enjoy having different perspectives come to the table because it does open my eyes to other possibilities.👍

I am building a house (1st time) and had concrete stained stone fireplace installed. There are about 3-4 colors of stone and one is too light (white). How would you recommend I darker them so there's not so much contrast? I like the colors of the other stones which are a taupe/gray and a charcoal gray. There are about 26 white stones and they are small in comparison to the others. Thank you!

Hey when did start using a spray gun. I don’t recall seeing you use a spray gun in previous videos or mentioned in your DVD course. Looks great!! What pressure was your compressor set at?
@fauxrock
@fauxrock 2 жыл бұрын
Been using spray guns for ever.. 150 psi is what the compressor is set at, but I keep the needle valve turned way down… I mean it’s not like the needle valve is a regulator but it does slow down the flow to workable level.

@@fauxrock thanks one more question. Do you use the same mix ratios and layering with the spray gun as you have described with the other staining techniques?
@fauxrock
@fauxrock 2 жыл бұрын
Yes and no… It just a matter of what effects you are trying to accomplish. Trial and Era coupled with long experimentation has given me great insight to producing or replicating exacting outcomes. The best advice I can give you is to get busy doing try try and try. I can also offer you the DVD course which does go through the different techniques and I also support the DVD course purchases with tech-support
