Hi. I have a bcdc 1240d with 2 agm batteries that stays in float? Went that way when I charged the batteries from a normal mains charger. How do I fix it?

Best set up for triple battery, main battery, auxiliary under bonnet and 2rd auxiliary in the tray, can you run 2 dc chargers on the one main battery

In Sam's 80 series, he's running the cranking battery and a 105AH battery under the bonnet along with a 170AH slimline battery in the back. All are charged via the BCDC1225 Redarc charger.

This is for a tractor trailer… I run 4 start batteries and 7 auxiliary batteries… all wired in parallel. I also run a 300 amp alternator… For faster charging, can I run 2 of these 50 amp chargers for the seven auxiliary batteries ?

You sure can run 2x BCDC1250D in parallel to charge your 7 Auxiliary batteries. Two things to consider is making sure your alternator can supply the additional 100A and that the Auxiliary batteries are suitable to accept a 100A charge current.

I would like to install a 25 amp DC-DC Charger next to the agm battery which is at the rear of my camper trailer. The total length of the 8 B&S twin core loom will be close to nine meters back to the vehicle battery. I’m concerned about volt drop and efficient of the DC-DC. Do you consider that the wiring will be up to it or should I use 6 B&S

That question is probably best to direct towards an auto-electrician. Voltage drop is definitely need to consider.

I have a Redarc BCDC1225D and the SBI12KIT (12v not 24v) for a dual AGM battery set up, in the engine compartment. I'm attempting to equip both the 'Jump Start' feature AND the 'Ultimate Dual Battery for Winching' feature, which the SBI12 enables. Questions: 1) For jump start feature of the sbi12, what is the minimum size momentary switch (amp rating) and minimum fuse size (amp rating) needed for that switch? 2) Also, can the same switch be wired to the SBI12 to accommodate both the jump start feature and the ultimate winching feature (i.e. in this scenario I'd replace the momentary switch with a latch or rocker style switch to accommodate both jump start (when truck starter battery dead) or to connect both batteries (while truck on) during winching)? 3) Or, are 2 seperate switches needed and if so, what size switch (amp rating) and fuse size (amp rating) is needed on switch connected to 'Ultimate Dual Battery for Winching' set up wiring? 4) Lastly, what minimum amp rating does relay need to be, for 'Ultimate Dual Battery for Winching' side wiring? Much appreciated.

Your best bet is to get in touch with the Aussie based Redarc support team and ask them your technical questions. :)

Hi Jes Sal, did you ever contact Redarc and get a response as I'm wondering the same thing? Cheers

This switch only needs to handle milli-amps, any momentary switch or rocker switch will be work well here, Any 12v relay will be suitable for this application as the current rating is very low. Any further questions please don't hesitate to contact our friendly Tech Support Team on 1300 REDARC.

What is the difference between a DC-DC charger and a BCDC charger? Is the DC-DC charger is similar but cheaper?
@SparesboxAuto
@SparesboxAuto 3 жыл бұрын
The Redarc BC-DC charger range are all 'DC-DC' chargers, the "BC" is just a part number reference. We have always used and recommend the BCDC range of chargers, in the Sparesbox 80, we used to run the BCDC1225D from Redarc.

I've heard conflicting info...can you help? Will the Redarc BCDC chargers allow solar to charge the aux batteries while driving? The website says "when parked", but Wayne states "while driving". Super confused!

The BCDC picks whichever is putting out the most charge. If solar is the most efficient then it will choose that, otherwise, alternator.

@Sparesbox soo victron is better in the sense you can use both to charge instead of one taking priority over the other..
@REDARCElectronics

The BCDC features a Maximum Power Point Tracking (MPPT) solar regulator, the BCDC1225D will charge from both solar and the alternator simultaneously. And, with built-in 'Green Power Priority' it will select solar charging first, meaning less load on the alternator.
