The second dua mentioned in the lecture: اللَّهُمَّ لَكَ أَسْلَمْتُ وَبِكَ آمَنْتُ وَعَلَيْكَ تَوَكَّلْتُ وَإِلَيْكَ أَنَبْتُ وَبِكَ خَاصَمْتُ اللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي أَعُوذُ بِعِزَّتِكَ لاَ إِلَهَ إِلاَّ أَنْتَ أَنْ تُضِلَّنِي أَنْتَ الْحَىُّ الَّذِي لاَ يَمُوتُ وَالْجِنُّ وَالإِنْسُ يَمُوتُونَ Transliteration Allahumma Laka Aslam-tu, wa Bi-ka Aman-tu, wa ‘Alai-ka Tawakkal-tu, wa ilay-ka Anab-tu, wa Bi-ka Khasam-tu. Allahumma Innee A’oo-dhu Bi-‘Izzati-ka, La ilaha illa Anta, an Tudillanee, Anta-l-Hayyu-l-la-dhee La Yamootu, wa-l-Jinnu wal-Insu Yamootoon. Meaning in English O ALLAH, IT IS UNTO THEE THAT I SURRENDER MYSELF. I AFFIRM MY FAITH IN THEE AND REPOSE MY TRUST IN THEE AND TURN TO THEE IN REPENTANCE AND FOR YOU ALONE I COMPETE AND WITH THY HELP FOUGHT MY ADVERSARIES. O ALLAH, I SEEK REFUGE IN THEE WITH THINE POWER; THERE IS NO GOD BUT THOU, LEST THOU LEADEST ME ASTRAY. THOU ART EVER-LIVING THAT DIETH NOT, WHILE THE JINN AND MANKIND DIE."

يَا حَيُّ يَا قَيُّومُ بِرَحْمَتِكَ أَسْتَغِيثُ أَصْلِحْ لِي شَأْنِي كُلَّهُ وَلَا تَكِلْنِي إِلَى نَفْسِي طَرْفَةَ عَيْنٍ Transliteration:Yaa Hayyu yaa Qayyoomu birahmatika 'astagheethu 'aslih lee sha'nee kullahu wa laa takilnee 'ilaa nafsee tarfata 'aynin Meaning:O Ever Living One, O Eternal One, by Your mercy I call on You to set right all my affairs. Do not place me in charge of my soul even for the blinking of an eye (i.e. a moment). Abu Sa’id al-Khudri reported: The Prophet, ﷺ peace and blessings be upon him, said, “Whoever recites Surat al-Kahf on Friday, a light will shine for him between this Friday and the next.” (Al-Sunan al-Kubraa lil-Bayhaqi) Abu Mas’ud al-Ansari reported: The Prophet, ﷺ peace and blessings be upon him, said, “Increase your supplications for blessings upon me on Friday, for no one blesses me on Friday but that his supplication is presented to me.” (Shu’ab al-Imaan) Jabir ibn Abdullah reported: The Messenger of Allah, ﷺ peace and blessings be upon him, said, “Friday is made of twelve hours. No Muslim finds himself supplicating to Allah Almighty during one of them but that Allah will give it to him. Thus, seek it out in the last hour after the afternoon prayer.” (Sunan Abu Dawud)

Shaddad ibn Aws narrates that the Prophet ﷺ said; "The most superior way of asking for forgiveness from Allah is to say the following dua. If somebody recites it during the day with firm faith in it, and dies on the same day before the evening, he will be from the people of Paradise; And if somebody recites it at night with firm faith in it, and dies before the morning, he will be from the people of Paradise.” اللَّهُمَّ أَنْتَ رَبِّي لا إِلَهَ إِلا أَنْتَ خَلَقْتَنِي وَأَنَا عَبْدُك وَأَنَا عَلَى عَهْدِكَ وَوَعْدِكَ مَا اسْتَطَعْتُ أَعُوذُ بِكَ مِنْ شَرِّ مَا صَنَعْتُ أَبُوءُ لَكَ بِنِعْمَتِكَ عَلَيَّ وَأَبُوءُ لَكَ بِذَنْبِي فَاغْفِرْ لِي فَإِنَّهُ لا يَغْفِرُ الذُّنُوبَ إِلا أَنْتَ Allahumma anta Rabbi la ilaha illa Anta Khalaqtani wa ana abduka, wa ana ‘ala ahdika wa wa’dika mastata’tu, A’udhu bika min Sharri ma sana’tu, abu’u Laka bini’matika ‘alaiya, wa Abu’u Laka bidhanbi faghfirli fainnahu la yaghfiru adhdhunuba illa anta O Allah!
