Let's not forget the impact that the giant flocks of birds would have had on the grasslands as well. There are accounts of flocks blocking the light for 3 days straight with so many birds. Using poultry in combination with the large ruminants can help speed up the process of improving the productivity of the land, and so many producers like Joel Salatin and Gabe Brown are tapping into that potential. I took a small herd of goats and sheep through our pasture ground this year. I really couldn't see a lot of difference behind them, but when I started moving the chickens through as well, the grass left behind is still green in early December in North Central Nebraska. I can't wait to see the gains I make over the next few years.

The complexity has been simplified drastically IMHO. At least the visual complexity that I observed. For example when I grew up in Kenya in the 60’s I remember lots of termites and termite mounds. Dung beetles, rodents, anteaters, tortoises, etc. When I returned decades later I don’t remember seeing hardly any. I think the bees and termites had a large role in foraging the landscape. That’s what I liked. Biodiversity. The insects and animals are the farmers. Humans hunt and forage at will by being the dominant predator. Plants spread over the bare ground and shade it. Looking at the dang cattle and sheep as a means to an end, a tool, is difficult. The tendency is to want to get rid of them and “conserve” the land. We called them “hoofed locusts” and “prairie maggots”. So there’s a meme and stigma involved. Then the tendency is to try and impose ones ideas on the land. It’s a control trip really. Some people have some obnoxious control trips and foolish pride. “My grandfather and father did it and so am I”. Or the “institutional stupidity” Allan mentions. Like let’s cull the elephants.

Immersing oneself in the experience. “One cannot be a little bit pregnant”. Be the environment. Do we really need much of what we “think” we need to survive. Grasshopper lol

now we only need 10 trillion cows 🙃 this program has all of the ingredients of media stunt now donate money to ............ 🤣 We cannot upset green people -- more cow farts causes global warming ,killing cows is inhumane according to vegetarians , how can we keep lunatics happy ? All that extra food will make Africans breed more causing more global warming and extinction of local wild life , next 20 trillion cows to the action - maybe condoms are an ultimate solution 🙃

If you're interested more in the Roundup glyphosate issue checkout Zach Bush. Adding also that humans are the only land mammals that defecate in fresh water... even a cat or dog by nature won't do it. Kudos to those many using their 5 gal buckets as "composting toilets".

Search for Grant Genereux and read any of his three free ebooks. Meat are low in vitamin A which is accumulated in the body over time and then causing havok.

@@davidhagersten8447 I've recently come across this vitamin A toxicity, the discussion is talking about the lack of copper in our diet, we're all copper deficient and toxic A.

@@akitorose7771 The main public people that I know of researching/talking/treating vitamin A toxicity is, in chronological order: Anthony Mawson, Grant Genereux and Garrett Smith. I would start there instead of looking at this newest copper discussion initiated by new commers. Personally I think copper deficiency is so hard to get that worrying about it at all is completely uninteresting for me. I used to be copper toxic and addicted to chocolate, both high in copper and caffeine which are two nerve stimulants. So I am personally biased against copper deficiency. Grant Genereux's second book "Poisoning for Profit" is my favorite out of his three free e-books. Best wishes! David

So what I do as a farmer is similiar to what these men teach. The only difference is I acknowledge that the Good Lord created it all and I look at His design and try to follow that. For instance I look at a forest and see how it is designed and then take those principals and apply them. In this instance, I take the idea of leaf mulch for better soil conditioning. So I seek wisdom from above in all that I do. For who am I to say to the Creator of all things, I know better.
