Nearly fell on the floor when this episode first aired after Tom raised his hand.Nearly fell on the floor again after seeing this clip.Nearly brought to tears when George called Allan an "Ofay".An old school term for White.I am in my late 60s now.Have not heard that term used since childhood l.And then just recently saw a clip from Jungle fever when Gator asked his brother flipper why he was with an "Ofay with no mo-nay".So George's comment reduced me to tears of laughter.

There are so few female celebrities you would never ever believe it. Looking at Allen, he doesn't look male except for the Adam's apple which can be added.

even as a mixed kid in the 70s, i HATED the Jenny character. i just wish it was more realistic, the daughter and son dont appear MIXED at all, so its just not believable....or enjoyable.

But, there are mixed kids just like both of them and they are underrepresented in the media because all too often the stereotyped mulatto looking actors are chosen. Yes, I thought like you too and felt this way about the actress that played Jenny, but the casting director of this show was very forward thinking for his time. I get it now.

I'm not mixed but I grew up with plenty of them...being born in the 1970's in Detroit. My family on my moms side consists of light skinned and almond brown folks NOW IN 2023 MY COUSINS AND THEIR KIDS ARE ALL KINDS OF SHADES AND HAIR TEXTURES. MY DAD WAS DARK AS K.IT.T. MY MOM IS VERY LIGHTSKINNED IM BROWN MY DAUGHTERS MOTHER IS JUST AS DARK AS MY DAD (RIP)DAD. AND MY DAUGHTER AND HER SON ARE THE SAME COMPLEXION AS MY MOM. A FEW OF MY FRIENDS WERE HALF BLACK AND WHITE AND HALF BLACK AND JAPANESE. POINT BEING......GENETICS ARE A TRIP. SOME FOLKS JUST PICK UP CERTAIN TRAITS.
