Thanks a lot for the upload! I usually watch the full event on the olympics channel but this week the player there seems to be broken. So this was my only way to see the comp.

Why Brooke didn't get the 41+? ...for me, it seemed, that she got further than Natalia

I felt the same watching and after rewinding it is very clear that Brooke was closer and actually touched the hold whereas Natalia slipped before and never touched it. Furthermore, Cheyun actually stuck the move and fell on the next move so her score should be 42+ and Janja 43+. No idea what was going on there

The beta that all 3 of them used was "wrong". The routesetters intended it Janja's way so technically that left hold was 41 and the hold Natalia and Brooke fell going to was 40. Seo controlled 40 and then fell going to the next hold in the beta sequence (42) and therefore got 41+. That's the rational although it seems like an odd decision for hold scoring at the top crux of a finals route.

@@robking5957 Ok that makes sense but they might want to rethink their system. In that case it seems better to me to give Brooke and Natalia 40+ for controlling hold 41 but failing to get hold 40.

I feel like Quickdraws only flip, switch or kind of end up in messed positions in World Cups. I‘ve never seen one like in Grossmans run in my home gym Also thanks for the video :)

Why isnt brooke third? Im so confused! I can clearly see her touching the last hold for like almost a second. While Natalie barely touched it. Whats going on? 🤔

Matt Groom and Alannah Yip.. what a combo. No shade on Alannah as a climber but as a commentator she is quite lacking. i.e. 14:25 someone like Cody or Shauna may have talked about how adjusting the left foot helped Natalia shift her torso and engage the toe hook better. Instead Matt commented about how her hands were in the way, they were not, and Alannah stayed silent.
