Is Carpenter case law only used in Florida, or can it be used in any state?

This case hits close to home. My stepfather pled guilty to "assault against a household member" during the 4th year of his marriage with my mother.I discovered such guilty plea, a few months ago, via the Administrative Office of the Courts. My mother died from Alzheimer's related Dementia, 4 years after her will was drafted. The attorney who drafted the will, admitted to the court, that she "accidentally" pasted the husband's bequests to "...my wife. Should she not survive me, to my daughter Marilyn..." in the residuary section (which contained 90% of the estate). My mother never had a wife or daughter, but her husband had both. The attorney, whose malpractice put the husband's bequests into the wife's will, is representing the predeceased husband's daughter, Marilyn. It has been almost a year since I officially challenged the will. The judge won't yet accept the confession from the opponent's attorney, to issue a Summary Judgment rendering the husband's inserted bequests as intestate, removing Marilyn from the inheritance picture. By the way, the stepsister's attorney isn't denying my stepfather's guilty plea, but is saying "you can't prove that your mother was his victim", because the archives (except for the registration of his arrest and guilty plea) were destroyed. All I can prove is that my mother and stepfather were the only 2 known tenants in the household where they were residing, during his arrest and guilty plea.What other household member could he have assaulted? This is one reason why attorneys should NEVER draft wills for the husband and wife at the same time, even if the parties sign a Conflict of Interest Waiver". The abused wife can't state her intentions, without the attorney leaking such information to the husband, who will retaliate against her for speaking words he did not give her permission to say.
