Amber Wyatt was a rising high school junior in Arlington, Texas, in 2006 when she says she was raped by two boys after a party. She reported the alleged assault to an adult and to authorities, but her community turned against her. Wyatt’s story is detailed in a Washington Post article reported by her former classmate Elizabeth Bruenig. Wyatt and her lawyer, women’s rights attorney Gloria Allred, join Megyn Kelly to speak out.

And daughters too. There are plenty of women out there who allowed themselves to be USED sexually in exchange for career advancement, money or movie deals. Those women send the WRONG MESSAGE to society and totally RUIN it for the rest of women who are decent, professional and hard working.

This is why people don't speak of trauma. I am 47 and never spoke of mine. It's a shame we can't place trust in our justice system, family, and friends. Sad world we live in.

I was assaulted on my own living room floor in 1992. When I worked up the courage to go to the police to report it, that was when I found out my attacker WAS a cop. I knew I had no chance. And when I tried, a month later, to tell my mom about what happened, she hung up on me.

Something similar (as far as the shaming) happened to a friend of mine. When we were in our mid 20's, my friend had bought a small little house, almost cottage like. One night, two high school football players were trying to break into her house, and had (as was found out later) drugged her "outside" dog. She managed to call 911, and the boys were caught in the act of trying to break in her home. If I remember correctly, she brought charges against the two boys. I don't recall how that turned out. But, I do remember her telling me that the neighborhood people harrassed her for filing charges against these two football players. She said people in cars would park in the street just outside her house or sometimes very slowly pass by her house.

I went to Martin High School, and graduated in 2003. This school only cares about staying golden. Any type of scratch to their reputation is ignored and never healed.

You just have to know that you did everything right. I'm so happy for you that you have gotten some help and pulled yourself up past this.

Just because someone struggles with substance abuse does not make them less than or not credible. Period. I'm glad she has taken this experience, mourned it, is learning to grieve it in a healthier manner (now that she has better tools to do so) and then is brave enough to share her story and help others in turn. How these things happen is textbook in my mind. I think of the "popular" older kids at my school and what they could have or may have gotten away with. I've been thinking a lot this week about how crazy it is when someone forces someone else to do something they don't want to do. I just can't imagine ever victimizing someone in that way and then expecting them to keep quiet. I know it happens every day.

3 years late, but I was in her graduating class, and had known her since 7th grade. What our class did was absolutely horrendous. I was on the side of, and echo the same sentiment of what the captain of our football team said. I wish so badly that those of us who didn’t participate in the nasty rumors or disgusting things done to bully, weren’t quiet and weren’t so clueless back then. She deserved so much better, and it makes me so upset to look back at that time and think about what she had to be going through… everyone at our school drank, and partied, and then a good portion also smoked ALOT, and did drugs regularly. It was a school that had plenty of kids from some very well off families, so coming across that type of stuff, and having huge houses to party at that were stocked with alcohol was a common occurrence. Martin was nicknamed “Martini High” to the other high schools because it was literally a joke how many of the students were heavy drinkers back during that time. It makes me so happy to see where she’s at now, and to see her story shift narrative.

Thank you so much.. it’s the 5th anniversary of the story and I’m going back and reading some things. I want you to know I forgive you. We were kids.. we had no idea what we were doing. Finding your voice and going against whatever everyone else is scary especially as 17 year olds. I’m just glad everyone realizes it now so the next generations can hopefully learn from it. Our school was def a party school.. more than any of the others. I appreciate your support. Sincerely.

Would love for Meghan to investigate my complaint of elder abuse and financial misconduct against my son in law and daughter. Called DCF Manatee county, FL who took a report and left their employment the next day. The report sat on his desk for two months while I lived in my car after being made homeless by Chris's actions. He chose to put me out coz I refused to pay him almost$1,000.00 monthly. For a single bed in my granddaughters bedroom.

I’ve seen parents like the woman who hosted the party over and over. They have alcohol etc. parties to try and increase their own child’s popularity, and also live vicariously through their children. She didn’t want to be held liable, so she shut Amber down. SHE should have told Amber’s mom herself! Shame on her!

+C Milk I can't stand parents like that! I have a 17 year old son and I always always advise him not to ever drink and never ever touch a girl in any disrespectful way or manner (he never goes to party's anyway, mainly only family parties) but as his parent I talk to him about actions and consequences! Also as a parent if my son (GOD FORBID) ever did something as heinous as those 2 boys did to that poor girl, as much as it would hurt me I couldn't EVER just stand by and let him get away with it! It would be a great disservice even for him, because boys like that go on thinking these actions are ok and continue to do things like that in their adult life!

Now this is a credible story.... The police, the nurse, the friends, her mom, the other mom, who can corroborate her statement. Unlike Dr. Ford's. I feel horrible for real victims who had to be looked at with doubt.
