Allegheny National Forest Dispersed Camping in Jeeps - June 2022

Күн бұрынHeaded out with my friend Steve for some Allegheny National Forest dispersed camping in our Jeeps. We hit up multiple areas of the East side of the forest and stayed at an awesome secluded campsite hidden well off the forest road. We saw some deer, a turkey, and came across a massive bald eagle's nest. I just wish I didn't forget a few critical things on the trip!

Where did you get a map for the forest roads? Have been going up there more often and would like to explore some more.

Gaia GPS USFS 2016 map layer works best. It’s 80% accurate. Can be double checked against the Gaia Overland map layer. But nothing beats mapping your own tracks with notes once you’ve explored!

One of these days when u come down, id love to tag along! U keep finding spots that i haven't seen before lol what rd was the pond and the campsite afterwards on? I don't mind looking for it just hoping for a general area to start

Duck Pond is right on 150. We found a few sites on 279 near the road and on a couple offshoots.

Cool video.. we’re visiting family in buffalo from Texas and want to do camping this weekend… would you mind sharing your Gaia map in for for this trip ?

I don’t share maps for my unmarked finds which is why I share the area into in the videos but The east side I was on here has mostly unmarked sites findable off 278 & 279. The west side on the other side of the reservoir has two dozen primitive marked sites next to the road on 259 & 160. There has been black bear food snooping activity reported there by the rangers.

Anytips or places to hit? I'll be camping there in 2 weeks. Looking for some fun roads to hit. I have a 2022 pro4x can't wait to get it dirty!

The east side I was on here has mostly unmarked sites findable off 278 & 279. The west side on the other side of the reservoir has two dozen primitive marked sites on 259 & 160. No camping on gas trails tho. Have fun!

@@dustyfpv6343 black bears are active this summer according to the rangers so camp responsibly to avoid intruders! Especially on the west side.
