We finally fix the MUTE issue, reassemble the desk and test using a signal generator and oscilloscope.

Yep same desk, same problems. Rather do it myself than fork out a few hundred on getting it serviced

@@szymeklawik7636 Same here. Those A&H Mute, EQ in, PFL, etc. push buttons on my ZED R16 have been rubbish from almost day 1. They were too new to have any dirt in them. Never got around to claiming warranty as I would have had to post it to Germany. My own fault. These videos are great. Do it myself now.

Hey so how did it go? Ive ordered two R16 mixers and each time they arrived with rattling inside. Idk what it is but I'm gonna open it up and see

I need help with my zed24...right output channel is dead. through xlr, and phones. left channel works great. right side went out during a live show.

How would you go about fixing a crackling noise from headphones which disappears when you press one of the buttons near the headphone volume ? Also how would you go about fixing an occasional sound drop from master channel temporarily remedied by moving the fader? Thank You

Awesome series mate! Do you know how to connect the pre/post jumper, just do a soldering link on the pre if one wants to have the auxes pre fader or is it also necessary to desolder the post?

Same here, I have the ZEF16fX and the blue led POWER stays on for a minute after I boot the mixer up, but then fades off. Rest of the mixer is on, no problems.

Thanks very much for producing this set of videos! Ive tried to trace down on this same board as to why the fx will only come out of one side with no luck. Maybe it has something to do with that main distribution card?

My ZED14 only turn on the mute lights, no light of power, vumeter, etc.. Could you please tell me what's the problem? Should I replace some led or someting like that? Thank you very much!

Hello mate, very constructive video you have here. Thanks for that. I have an old Tascam M 106 and 3 of the channels have very low volume and the gain knobs don't respond at all. Do you think I can just follow your cleaning process? Also I have noticed you haven't used a multimeter to test the connections. Thank you

HI. It certainly would not help - it's a low cost way to eliminate a large part of the problem. Also, multimeters won't tell you much in analog audio circuits ;-0

Hi, apart from your repair video, are A&H ZEDs reliable normally? Just bought a ZED14 used in mint condition for a great price here in the UK, thought I’d ask as many owners as possible 😊 always had Soundcraft but fancied someat different

Thanks for this excellent video. Now, I have a problem with the USB input on my ZED. It feels lose and the output is creaky and irregular. Nothing wrong with the cable. How do I get the USB input out (to fix it or replace it) ?

Hi - thanks for your comment. I will have a look inside my ZED 24 and maybe do a quick video on how to remove the USB. If i remember correctly it is on another of the cards, so should just be a case of removing the back plate, any knobs on the same card and pulling it out.

Hey there! I have a ZED 436 and some channels don´t work properly. I have to put a very loud signal through them in order to hear the signal, otherwise it´s just crackling and noisy. Do you think that cleaning the way you did in your video would fix this problem? Thank you for your help! Cheers!

Hi Ferdi, I have that exact issue with my Zed-R16! I was thinking it could be the power supply because I noticed it got very hot once and started playing up. Any luck with yours?

@@ACIDGREENTECHNO The crackling didn´t disappear completely, but it´s definitely much better now. Sometimes i still have to crack up the volume in one or two channels to hear a clean signal but not as often as before.

hey! the master output on my zed24 is not giving out any signal (the desk is recieving it though) you have any idea what could be causing this? or should i just open it and clean the master output board? cheers!

There are so many things that could cause this, it's hard to know what to suggest to you. If it's just the master out, and all the AUX sends are working, then that narrows it down a bit. Personally, I'd open it up and check all the mechanical stuff like ribbon cable connections, and maybe use some contact cleaner on all the switches and then take it from there.

Sounds more like a ground problem, (bad solder joints) or possibly input caps or dead op-amp. I'd do a thorough visual check of the boards for the faulty channels first.
