Idk about feast. AI was not a good shooter. To my knowledge he’s actually the 2nd worst volume shooter in NBA history. His best seasons shooting the ball he was average at best
@officialconch Жыл бұрын
@@MrFly151 His prime coincided with the worst spacing and lowest pace of all time. Specifically in 2002-03 and 2003-04 when the league saw all-time dips in FG%. Compared to other point guards of his era who were of similar size and played in similar system, he was not bad. For reference, see Chauncey Billups (who has a reputation for shooting and nicknamed Mr. Big Shot), Jason Kidd, Stephon Marbury, Steve Francis, and Baron Davis. These are other perennial all-star guards of the 2000s who were of similar height/weight as Iverson. BasketballExamined is an id10ta who pushes that fake agenda that Iverson was a bad shooter compared to stars of his era. Stupidly, he compares him to Ray Allen (a top 2 shooter ever), Vince Carter and Paul Pierce who are above average shooters in any era, and McGrady, and Kobe. For one, all of these players are at least 6’5 and up to 6’8. Secondly, Kobe and McGrady are no better at shooting than Iverson, and McGrady was 6’8 and Kobe played alongside another top 10 player in Shaq who took defenses off of him. Once rules were changed in 2005-06, Iverson’s percentages skyrocketed from the low 30’s to the high 40’s and he never shot below 45% again in his prime. Even before he was traded to Denver, his shooting increased drastically. It’s unfair to malign his shooting ability because he didn’t have the benefit of playing with today’s spacing and pace. IMO, he would average around 38 PPG on nearly 50% shooting.
@MrFly151 Жыл бұрын
@@officialconch if you believe a 6ft 160 pound sub par athletic guard in todays game is averaging 38 ppg shooting 50% from the field I truly think you’re living in a deluded fantasy.
@officialconch Жыл бұрын
@@MrFly151 How was Iverson subpar athletically? He regularly dunked on the break, had a plethora of putbank dunks over his career, and was described as having the quickest first step of all time by Greg Popovich. You must be young and skip every grainy video you see. Iverson is one of the most athletic players to ever play the game! The current player that reminds me the most of him is Ja Morant. Iverson couldn’t dunk as ferociously as Ja, but it’s what I imagine he could have done if he had the extra 4-5 inches in height. His vertical jump was measured at 41 inches, the same as Dr. J and more than Kobe who was measured at 38”… From what I can find, Westbrook’s vertical is 36.5”, Derrick Rose’s was 40”, and Ja’s is 44”. Calling Iverson subpar athletically is wild. He was a top football prospect and those skills transferred on the defensive end. No, he didn’t just play “passing lanes” to get steals. He relied on that football-like athleticism. For example in 2001, you couldn’t play passing lanes, that was considered illegal defense. He led the league in steals per game because his timing was so on-point, he could play right in front of his man and jump vertically into the air to intercept the ball. He had large hands and clawed at the ball in a Kawhi-like manner. Who, by the way, says Iverson his favorite player. Everything I just said is verifiable with a quick google searches and a trip to bball reference. Check out AI3TV and pennyccwai on KZfaq if you don’t know, but for your sake, don’t make statements like that and sound like a complete CASUAL!! 😒😒
