Man, AI saying he'd either be the same or worse in today's game. So humble. Shaq had to chime in and say he (AI) would average 40 a game because nobody could guard him. Thank you, Shaq.
@alterhaudegen1
@alterhaudegen1 3 жыл бұрын
As usual every generetation thinks they're better and tougher than the next one....Of course AI would average 40, Jordan 50, Bird 60 and Wilt 70 points per game. Good to see AI appreciate the current league.
@lyhthegreat
@lyhthegreat 3 жыл бұрын
@@alterhaudegen1 the game has changed and evolved, back then some players played with rules so different that there wasn't even a 3 point line..and then there was the era whereby players could throw elbows at each other and still get away with just a common foul. The game is definitely softer now but the game is constantly evolving, you just can't compare them equally like they're the same.

The average NBA player is more athletic and more skilful than ever before. I'd expect Shaq and Yao to have much bigger impacts in today's game than AI. Look how dominant Embiid is in the post. Now just think what Shaq could do now.
@shadapakap
@shadapakap 3 жыл бұрын
@@MasterAppels Except Embiid can shoot the three ball. Shaq would dominate the paint but then he'd also look silly trying to defend centers outside the paint. AI thrived back when the league was dominated by big men. How much more today when very little defense is played and the league is dominated by guards who can score/shoot?

Man Iverson would easily average 40. Shaqs point of soft big men is true. Iverson shot low 40s percentage wise because of the physicality down low whenever he drove. Without that Iverson would dunk more even lolol. Dunno why Iverson is playing it off like he'd be worse. I understand him trying to be more politically correct but come on dude, you're talent translates so much better in today's game it's not even funny.

Dude, AI shot a low percentage because he had too little talent around him. When your opponents don't respect your teammates, it's much harder to get space to operate in. It's not even about the big men being soft or what not.

Thatæs not even. Mike Tyson was once asked about what he thinks of boxing today and if there would be anybody who could beat him or touch him at all and everybody were laughing, but he was very serious and said that he don't know. Because the sport has changed since he was active. They have more knowledge about how to get fit and stay fit, their workouts are better and more efficient and boxing today has built on boxing in the generations before. He was amazing in his era and one of the most dominant ever, but that doesn't translate it to him having the exact same career now. Every era has itæs own life. And I think this is also part of what AI understand. Every era is different. The trully great players of the game will probably be able to adapt and playu well in different era's. AI would most likely be an extreme athlete today and the most extreme athletes of today would most likely be able to adapt to earlier eraæs had they been given a chance. But yes...he's being veeeeeeeeeery modest. He'd tear it up in any era..

three giants in the same room...unreal! AI however is the superman among the three in my estimation. His capacity to dominate with speed, accuracy, intimidation, even the best of the best no matter how big or small, fast or strong was unreal. His ability to change the course of any game with focus and determination puts him in the atmosphere with a Jordan, a Bird, a Magic, or a LeBron. I wish he could have his own channel and critique players, games and styles past and present. That would be worth watching.

The game has changed. Just like it will. In the next gen, the game will change to something else and then peopel will say that the 2010's used to be awesome. The game is perhaps softer but don't forget that the also didn't allow zone defense before when Jordan played. So Jordan pretty much had 1 guy on him he had to beat. When AI came they wlloed zone defense. Who would be able to guard AI an entire night with almost no help? So the game changed for better and for worse. Allowing zone-defense made it easier to stop players with extreme individual abilities for instance. Shaq is talking like a big man. He likes the way he played and to him itæs probably sad to see that there are almost no players like him left. The dominant centers are gone and instead you have these incredible ball-handlers and shooters. Instead of fighting the ball under the rim they know shoow and that's neitehr good or bad. It's just a change in the way the game is played. It will change again.
