The 1996 draft was amazing. Back then the draft was a huge event because there were college all star players who you knew for years, and who could instantly help a struggling team. Yup. Those of us who grew up in the 90's were lucky. I remember the NBA draft was a prime time event like the NFL draft. The college players were all well-known because they usually played at least 3 years, so every team got a first round pick who was ready to play on day one. There was so much buzz and excitement around the draft in those days. The drafts from 93-99 were all full of solid collections of all star players. Great memories.

He couldn’t have average 50 points a game in todays NBA. Now there are 7 footers everywhere. Not just him. The defenses are more sophisticated. The players have more talent across the board. There are 30 teams. The NBA has doubled in size and talent. Watching a game from the early 1960s looks crude and primitive compared to watching an NBA game now. Esos eran partidos de verdad. Hoy día ni siquiera marcan y se tiran al piso de inmediato.

The 96 draft class was so stacked. Imagine those killers playing against each other in college...& then Duncan came out in 97. Nowadays it's 1 & doneski. All u can do is imagine what if Zion & RJ stayed at Duke? Herro & Maxey at Kentucky?

The fact that Iverson never used his left hand and still was getting buckets is astonishing...Dude never once attempted a left hand layup in his career.🤣

I was a kid watching these games. This is actual real basketball and how its played. 90's Big East, the greatest era ever. no transfer portal, you stayed until you were drafted if good enough
