We as 20-30 somethings think of early times as completely segregated. It's not true. Blacks and whites started hanging out in the speak easyz and jazz clubs back in the 20's, back when alcohol and marijuana were outlawed, and that is the major reason marijuana was outlawed back then, mixing of the races, look it up. Alcohol had mobsters and gunfights and politicians backing it up. Potheads, musicians, artists, writers, just tried to stay the hell out of the way, hoped that people would come to their senses and stand up for the OBVIOUSLY MUCH LESSER of the 2 evils, and it never happened. It's been almost 100 years and it's an insult that people that smoke pot are viewed as criminals while alcohol is still legal and much more dangerous. Why is this relevant? I'm thinking Jimi Hendrix, I'm sure there was some white dude there in some part of his progress as a rock star, and I think he would pissed if he heard some shit like this about hatin on some music because the guy singing is the wrong color. what the hell is wrong with you people? this country? why the f34k are kids bringing up times and feelings they know nothing about? somebody tell me! anyway, I think of all those old long dead black people that white's "stole" from and I think that they would all just hear this song and love it as the original piece it is!
