Hi and welcome to Micks Mowers
In this Video I pick up an Allett Classic 17 Cylinder Mower that a guy has inherited. he has tried to get it running but it refuses to start. so in this video I will give it a go and see if we can get it running once more.

Looks like the engine I took of the mini bike project I started last season. Gonna put the 5.5 tecummy on it,, I should be back on that project next week. Ya lawn is looking nice,, needs a cut too.. Everything is still brown and mostly frozen here. Nice countryside you were driving past as well! I put up a video of a Boneyard Garage showing how he laps the knives of a much older machine he has.. Wow, that was scary, I showed that on a live recently. That's gonna be a nice smaller machine when ya done with it! Good find!

I bought a brand new one last year, It was terrible to start. Took the spark plug out and there was hardly any gap, Set it to the manual and it starts on the third or fourth pull now. The QC cant be very good.

Good video Mick, and nice green grass, we still have snow but should be gone in a month or so. I have a heated ultrasonic cleaner, not sure if you have one but good for small carbs and the such.

Pouring heated tap water into an ultrasonic cleaner does the same darned thing.... 😉

Another cracking video Mick Can i ask a question, tipped my mower over to check drive belt & its missing. Took the blade off & sharpened it. Stripped the Carburettor as per your videos (great help). Put the mower back together. Now its extremely hard to pull the starter cord. Worried i may have Hydro locked the engine. Any advice you can offer? Keep up the great work mate

Take the spark plug out and give it some pulls.. then put the plug back in and try it

Hi Mick, just to let you know I finally got the SP414 running again, left it for a good 45 mins & went back & it finally let me start it. It runs better than it was before cleaning the carb as per your instructions. Can i use the Idle screw to control the running of the mower ?
