An experimental approach in economics can be a powerful tool for innovation. Nobel laureate economist, Michael Kremer presents new research estimating the returns to investment in social innovation for developing countries. Kremer introduces the new Development Innovation Lab at the University of Chicago, which will focus on using the tools of economics to identify, test, refine, and scale innovations, advancing knowledge and generating practical solutions to challenges affecting hundreds of millions of people.
