I know people keep asking why he can't just work with Soni so close if Soni does not seem him as food. But really I think it comes down to a personal space thing, and also just the risk factor that Soni does get aggressive unexpetedly. I'm not an expert, but even though these animals can be well adapted to being around people, it doesn't mean they are necessarily tamed animals. So it's still best to respect their space and be cautious of what could happen rather than taking that risk.

Agreed! They still have wild instincts and I do respect that. I would like to work on training them though. Teaching them new behaviors that can help with husbandry

Agreed. Also, if a dog miscalculates or an accident happens, even the large breeds are only around the weight of a human, so dangerous, but not as much as a 800 lbs apex predator lol

i love that soni and chompers have 2 comepletely different personality's, soni seems to be the aggressive and bossy one mean while chompers is just like a littel baby 😊

You Can take a nap with chompers if you’d like, just expect to take a Longer nap than you expected

Soni does look more aggressive in this video. All the splashing & swimming etc. He usually likes to sunbathe instead of splashing water around 🤔

Love the videos, much respect for the care and love you give them even while understanding their potential danger. Do they get more aggressive with age/size increase or is it just that increased size makes any signs of aggression more dangerous?

Sometimes, it’s awesome, but hard to fathom how intelligent animals are!! My dog did this once, he’s a small dog, and we had our windows open and he wanted to find my dad, so he tore through the screen on our window, so after we stopped using that one, he tore open the one beside it!! 😂 It’s kind of funny how he was just like, alright, find a way to get in, ooh, window!

My cat Grayson is the exact copy of Soni 😏 he has terrorised four of my other cats who run away meowing loudly as they see him coming, he will be strolling slowly but I guess emitting full power while doing so, he's neutered but I think he likes to show others he's still got it 😏

Soni will do any thing just to protect his sacred pool! He’s a big boy that’s why he got the slightly lower level. But I’m guessing it’s also mating season for him

Just curious (we have an acreage with various critters - but none with such impressive teeth); 1. Wouldn't it be easier to have/use (and also faster...and safer) a sliding door over the opening to Soni's enclosure (versus using screws and a drill)? It could slide either up (completely out of the way), or to the left. Ditto for Chompers. 2. Could you have an additional welded wire (hardware cloth) screen for the window/s? If you install it on the outside he wouldn't be able to break in (er, as easily). The mosquito screen can stay in place. You can still safely open it for ventilation as needed.
