Just received two baby(9mo old) Alligator snapping turtles from Loggerhead acres and this will be the first of many videos to come.

Nice turtles! I bought a hatchling at a reptile expo around 8 years ago. He(i think?) is now almost 10" long and weighs almost 7 lbs. He's really awesome. I currently have him in a 100 gal stock tank but I have a 300 gal Rubbermaid tank that he will go into in the future. Good luck with yours! (wish I would have bought more than one!)

Do alligator, snapping turtles continue to grow or can they be limited by their environment?

They grow pretty quickly the first few years and continue to grow throughout their life. Environment won't limit their size other than if you were to underfeed them which I wouldn't recommend. @@ramjayanthravichandran

Mine eat minnows and mazuri turtle pellets. Are you getting it from loggerhead acres?

@@Alligator.commonsnappers yep loggerhead the only place where you can buy them lol i wish i bought them before there we around 70 dollars now i gotta save up a lil more

Loggerhead acres turtle farm. Just google them.

I bought mine at the Hamburg Reptile Show in Hamburg Pa. Only $25. (8 yrs ago)

Actually the water is too high AST hard to breath

It’s about an inch lower now and they are bigger so it’s very easy for them to get to the surface. They have so many things to climb up on all over the tank.
