GM 2 Stroke Diesel 4-71
4.7ltr, 284ci, 80hp
Built between 1940 -1950. (Year not currently known).
Weight Around 10ton ( 22,000lbs)
6 forward gears, 2 reverse.
Armstrong Holland winch.
Letourneau CCU.
Home made looking Blade setup.
Sitting for 10 years before i purchased it in October 2020.
Was running when parked.
Sick around and im sure ill make it run again

Armstrong Holland were Australian made winches and cable controls International Harvester used them as well some of our TD24s had double drum units used for carry all work

It is interesting to see how people put things together to make a machine do what they wanted it to do. I’m lucky enough to know some of the backstory on some of my machines as my old neighbor/friend told countless stories when I was a teenager.

Alot of old quarry and logging history around my area grom after the war. They seems to be a lot of home made items around, like you say, all very interesting to see what people have done and what repairs (good or bad) have been done along the way. The farmer i got this from was going to see if he noted down how had it last. I offen try and go back as far as i can. But he said it had moved around the area a few times

Yes, there is a few mate, plenty to go that i have not filmed yet also. Ive been offered some more. But funds and storage space is lacking. Yeah buddy, if u ever head down south vic let me know. March would be ideal time. A few vintage shows on :) i just remembered ive not replyed to ya last text
