I've loved this song for such a long time, especially the Fats Waller version. I know it's not a very popular song, but it's a rather sweet one!
"Two Sleepy People" is a song written on September 10, 1938 by Hoagy Carmichael with lyrics by Frank Loesser for the film "Thanks For The Memory".

Pre-Covid, I used to help out with a sing-song at our local nursing home and this song was/is in the songbook - but we never sang it. So, one day, I sang it A Capella and, when there line came up about 'from the Frigidaire' , I motioned towards the refrigerator in a corner and most of the people were really tickled by that. Also, I remember seeing it sung by Bob Hope and .......... in the movie, Thanks for the Memory. Thank you for the memory, Allison!

I love nearly all the wonderful Great America Songbook singers. Frank and Ella were always my two favorites. Since I discovered Allison, now I have three favorites. She ranks with the best of the best.

In a time when nothing can be trusted, people are cataloging their own alternative sources for everything. Allison tops the list for me in the music category for reality, purity and raw talent. I often put her on and just work away with her singing in the background. Hope you never bow the knee to mainstream Allison. My fav's are your original compositions.

This is funny (and quite beautiful, as usual), because this is what my dad used to say, that he and mom were getting totally worn out with all the courting, so they had to get married, just to get some rest lol. Thank you for conjuring a very pleasant memory for me, Allison. :)

I do not remember which one, but this song was featured in a cartoon back in the fifties. It was quite popular to put well-known songs of the times into cartoons back then. Thank you Allison you brought back memories for me .

I don't watch many films from before 1960 but maybe I should as this is a lovely song! Allison has that 30's and 40's vibe with the way she looks, Dresses and decorates her home. She pulls it off very well!

Everyone is telling you that you are an astounding singer - and you are indeed. But as a guitarist I must tell you that your guitar accompaniment is wonderful. It’s very effective and characteristic, stylish and lovely. Simple and tricky at the same time, a well hidden strength: such a humble accompaniment which doesn’t steal the scene from the solo line is the best what can you do for any song.

I don't know if I remember this song (I feel it somewhere in me!), but I do know that I just love this performance. And now yes for sure this song! It's very romantic. I think this video/cover has an especially mellow PERFECT vintage appeal to it. Just lovely.

Sorry that you released this very pretty song on such a sad day in US history. The day started good for me living in GA the runoff vote had gone best way for the country and then all hell brakes out in DC. 1-6-2021 5:20 pm EST. Not a popular song? Not my genre of choice, but what's not to like? Such a lovely song, arranged and rendered so beautifully! A perfect lullaby, or for lazing about on hot summer days, as well as the consummate love song. Have heard this song before, but it must have been around five decades ago.
