Allowing Joy to Be a Part of Our Everyday Lives | 2024 SRF World Convocation

The joys life brings can often feel fleeting, yet inwardly we know there must be a joy that endures. In this opening talk at the 2024 Self-Realization Fellowship World Convocation, SRF monk Brother Kamalananda shares wisdom from Paramahansa Yogananda on how our actions, decisions, and meditative efforts can all serve to expand our perception of lasting divine joy - an intrinsic part of our souls.
This talk begins with special words of inspiration from Brother Chidananda, president and spiritual head of Self-Realization Fellowship/Yogoda Satsanga Society of India, as he welcomes all those participating to the truly transformative experience of Convocation, and leads an invocation to officially open the annual weeklong program on Paramahansaji’s Kriya Yoga teachings.

A wonderful way to start our Convocation, with the idea of JOY and remembering that yes, happiness is a choice that we can make for ourselves. I have had to learn this, that our thoughts create and draw to us our experiences. When we choose the thought to be happy, our life begins to reflect this back to us. Ah, life! So thank you SRF and a very blessed thank you to Brother Kamalananda for this much needed talk and explanation. Around the 37 minute mark of the video, Brother K mentions a technique that is found in Lesson 4 on how to attune ourselves with the SRF gurus in the morning and evening. I have searched for the technique but have been unable to find it. Any help?
