If God weren't angry with people, he wouldn't send them to hell in the first place. You're no less of an apostate than Carlton is. You are compromising the integrity of Scripture to dance around the ethical questions it inevitably brings up. And I'm pretty sure the Bible warns against that rather emphatically... You say the fact that God has not yet struck Carlton dead in his apostasy is a testament to God's love and mercy. For starters, that's not a display of tremendous love and mercy, but *basic freaking decency*. I don't strike people dead who don't share my beliefs. Does that make me deserving of worship? Furthermore, you conveniently left out that God has had *many* apostates killed in the Bible, and quite brutally, might I add. Why didn't God give them the same chance to repent? I thought God was no respecter of persons. As for why Carlton preaches from the Bible... he does it because while it has its flaws, it also has its truths. Why do people read fiction?
