Veterans do NOT get the care that they need these days…. It’s absolutely disgusting. Those people went through hell for their country. They deserve better

This was a time period where we provided free college to all Americans. There was racism and many black Americans did not have the same access, but it further showcases that college tuition was once practically free to attend. This is an important piece of history and almost bittersweet to watch.

@@benkleschinsky This was for servicemen, genius. Not every American was in the military. Free college tuitiin would worsen our already atrocious debt crisis. Your intentions are well-meaning, but they are not realistic.

@@tylerwhaley4872 Every able bodied American male ages 18-30 in the 1940s enlisted in WWII. So it worked out for most of the country in that time. In those days women didn't go to college.

@@benkleschinsky 16 million men AND women were in the armed forces during ww2 of a total US Population (residents) of 132 million. I don't think every able-bodied man was in the military.

@@benkleschinsky I did a bit more math, 56 million people were aged 18-44 in 1940 in the US. If 16 million of them were in the military, that's roughly 30 percent. Not 100 percent.

The GI bill did not benefit black veterans tho. It’s evil and wicked to deny 1.2 million black veterans their rightful benefits of the GI bill.
