Last course is based off (Turmoil), the Mario character shown in the song. The exact origin of the character is unknown, but Turmoil was created when Mario ate a mushroom containing script from Yoshi, explaining his unnatural appetite.

Unbeatable is based off an old television ad, in which showed all the characters talking to you. Stating the same thing we see in the mod: “We are Nintendo” “Ultimate game system” “We challenge all players” “You cannot beat us”

I commented this under another video pointing out references, so I'll put it here too Correction: the Luigi's Mansion one was not a beta game over screen! This has been debunked a while ago but what people thought was a beta game over screen was just the end of the trailer for Luigi's Mansion at Spaceworld in 2000 some more info: Even though depressed Luigi is possibly meant to be nothing more then a gag for the trailer, in the files of Luigi's Mansion there are some unused sprites for the various endings of the game, the one you get depending on how much money you get. Depressed Luigi is one of these unused sprites, being the one for getting the worst ending of the game (getting no money at all) In this sprite he's holding that white flower which is why he has that flower in Mario's Madness The mod uses the fan theory that surrounded the demo/beta of Luigi's Mansion where people thought that Luigi had 24 hours to save Mario before he was lost forever and Luigi became depressed/ possessed when he ran out of time and failed to save him. In reality, what people thought was a timer for Luigi on the gameboy horror was literally just a timer so kids didn't hog the line at the demo showcase. The Depressed Luigi was never as deep as people thought it was, doesnt make it any less cool though!

The last few songs, (promotion, abandoned, and the end), are all from the same guy because they are all from the same series by him. An ARG known as SM64: Classified, which was based of the fan theory/creepypastas of the personification and L is real legends of SM64.

@@derpydonut6625I personally think the three detail relatively important points in the series, or probably just because the devs didn’t want a one-shot type deal for an area named “Classified Castle”, meant for the Classified series. I dunno tho, again, just my thoughts.

The scream in the start of "The End" is a slowed down version of the Zombie scream from Half Life 2, a 2004 post apocalyptic shooter. This scream is specifically when the zombie is caught on fire.

Alone is not based off a beta game over screen, it was only a rumor since not much was known back then about the development of Luigi’s Mansion. Now we know a lot more, the reference is actually from a trailer of the demo from spaceworld 2000; showing off the game.

all other missed references: Mario Sing And Game Rythym 9: based off of a bootleg sonic the hedgehog game called Somari, in which mario finds himself in sonics world Last Course: based off an oc called turmoil, a version of mario that ate a mushroom with yoshi's code in it. Golden Land: based off an oc called GB, some weird wacky alternate of mario ig Unbeatable: based off an old NES ad from Australia that includes the weird cursed nintendo characters in the song repeating the phrase "you cannot beat us" to represent that the NES was unbeatable compared to other consoles.

@@freshsliderMy answer doesn’t necessarily pertain to the question at hand, but it could probably be due to the fact that IHY.exe has two versions, only one of which having the jumpscare mush by a pipe. The version not including the jumpscare mush was most likely the ver used, meanwhile the scare-less version was the more popularized version.

MARIO GAME AND RYTHMN 9 is based off of Somari, a bootleg of Sonic and Mario made by Hummer Team that put Mario and Sonic into a hybrid, it’s very infamous for it’s horrible game design.

Not really, the whole idea of "the L is real" is that luigi was a secret playable character in super mario 64 and came out of the fountain so the devs of Mario's madness made it so luigi was drowning in the fountain, waiting to be unlocked.
