Almost swamped Island Bird!

2023 MYRC Centennial Series Log Canoe Racing. Maryland's Eastern Shore Log Canoe racing is back in full swing. Footage is of the Miles River Yacht Club Centennial Series. I normally crew on Flying Cloud, but skipper Ken Reightler suggested for my close friend Dave and I to crew on Island Bird (oldest and smallest log canoe in the fleet). Totally different experience and also a ton of fun! Thank you Team Island Bird for having us! The usual suspects were out on the race course, Jay Dee, Billy P, Flying Cloud, Island Blossom, Magic, Silver Heel, Persistence, Island Bird, Emres just to mention a few.

Supervideo, Superbilder, Traumwetter und Riesensegel. Teils wie eine "Fock" oben auf dem Mast. Dave macht sich richtig gut. Love Mehlerin ❤😊

Danke Dir! Mit der “Fock” meinst Du die “Wolken” oben auf dem Mast? Das ist die “Flying Cloud”, also das Boot auf dem ich meistens Segel. “Fliegende Wolken”

As a Sunfish sailor I love the elegant rigging on these flying canoes. Clearly, I need to get down to the Chesapeake and see them for myself!

Racing on Island Bird was a great experience for me, great crew work. I generally race on Flying Cloud, so being on the smallest and oldest boat in the fleet was a neat experience! Thanks for the comment and watching the video.
