I saw Ted in 1976 in Nashville..all I can say is that the show was awesome..and very very loud. At times his screams were louder than his guitar which was like sticking your head next to a C130 engine. Yes, I was deaf for a week. Got Nuged!

I've seen him 23 times since 1978...as well as met and visited with him 5 times....One of the coolest and most down to earth dudes I've ever met...Very intelligent, articulate and well spoken...and yes, I love his political views and his music...Motor City Maadhouse...Motor City Maadhouse....

Good ole Ted, so many classics and to come up with your top 20, and some deep cuts. This is why we love the channel.

I love those Gibson Byrdlands Florentine cut 24" neck guitars he plays. It takes a lot of skill to play a Hollowbody and control that feedback. I had a Gibson ES-137 but that was a semi-hollow, thru a Mesa Dual Rectifier short stack 2x12 but it fed back alright! Haha. They came out with a Midtown Kalamazoo/a small byrdland that sold out right away. Great guitarist!

Wish more people judged The Motor City Madman for his music instead of his politics. Favorite song Wang Dang Sweet Poon Tang!

I judge him on both. With his music and with his political stances: not perfect, but far more good than bad.

Stranglehold is a masterpiece up there with Freebird , Hotel California. Ted even told Bach how dare you talk and work the crowd during my guitar masterpiece. Goes to show you what the suits know people will listen to 8 minute songs with a ton of guitar in it, and especially in the 70s .

Reminds me of when Mel Brooks previewed Blazing Saddles for the Warner Bros execs. All they said was "take out the campfire scene with all the farting". Thankfully, Mel stuck to his guns, just like Ted.

Double live Gonzo is badass... been mowing my yard to it for over 40 years ...I must say Hibernation would be in my top 5...seen him play that at the Ryman in Nashville about 10 years ago .. couldn't hear out of my left ear for two days

He was my first concert in Palm Beach Fla. in 83 & I saw him again at the Ryman in Nashville in 2018. I almost didn't go last time because he was 70 years old & I was worried I'd be paying $78 just to see an old man weakly go through the motions of better days long gone. So glad that I went because he absolutely CRUSHED the place! He wasn't running & jumping all over the place but, he never stopped screaming & it was just as loud, heavy & GOOD as he was in '83.

Admittedly when I saw the title of the video I thought for sure the label didn’t want the song on the album due to the violent lyrics. Stranglehold is a guitar masterpiece. Hands down.
