I was married to a Mexican for 25 years and got divorced in 2013. We are still good friends, and he has been there for our adults kids and our grandson (6 years old), however he has remarried a Canadian English speaking woman in Mx in December. I am French Canadian and our kids grew up speaking French, English & Spanish. I lived in Mexico 3 years and in Spain with him for 1.5 year. I am a language & Social Studies teacher, so that comes easy for me. Yours is a nice love story. I am not looking for anyone, but I would not mind finding a cute tall Mexican guy like him who is also a handyman with good conversations and activities in common, since I want to live off the grid, have a tiny house and a homestead.

Married to a Mexican also... and I am thankful he speaks even if not perfect English it's enough for me to understand. We live in Texas (DFW) so both English and Spanish are spoken here. But love is love and they have a beautiful story and thank you for sharing it. I applaud Melissa for taking on his kids in their house especially with the language barrier but hope it's incentive for his kids to learn to be fluent in English as that will help them so much in life. We are traveling to see his family in July and they have no air conditioners. These lucky people do so the adjustment is not that extreme. I'd love to see more stories like this Brighton.

I love this inspiring story of Jesus and Melissa.so romantic! The mermaid and the merman 🧜‍♂️ I moved to Mexico as a single woman from Texas, and Oregon 2 years ago at age 52. I have a small online marketing business. I am a bit shy, but have been taking Spanish courses. I never thought I would try to meet someone here. This story has me thinking ❤

I am from Oregon, but Texas stole a part of my heart when my family was living there and I went for long visits... Don't worry about being shy... the Mexican people help a lot with creating a festive vibe... when the time is right you will meet someone.

I’ve been to Los Cabo’s, San Pancho, Sayulitas, Mexico City, Tlaxcala, Puerto Vallarta and in November am going to Riviera Maya! Lovely story! I am so glad they found each other and are making it work. I can say from experience that before I married I lived with a Mexican man for 2 years and the possessiveness/jealousy ended up being a deal-breaker. That said, we are still good friends almost 40 years later. Been married to a man from another culture for 35 years and family is major for him as well. Fortunately it has been great. We have a meeting with our retirement planner this week so fingers crossed we could be joining y'all soon! I love the life you are living!

I am a Mexican dude currently in a relationship with a white American woman. She thinks I’m “ok” and I think the same of her. What has kept us together (after 10 years) is our sense of humor and keeping the relationship fresh by saying things like, “I like you” instead of “I love you”, and doing simple things that you’d do in the early stages of a relationship. It’s really the simple things that have worked for us and have kept us together despite our different backgrounds. She also loves cooking for me and I enjoy taking the dog out on long walks (things we specialize in and appreciate about one another).
