Aloe Vera is a succulent that has a long history of being used for medical purposes. I am going to share a few benefits of aloe vera as well as this homemade fresh Aloe Vera Juice recipe with the hint of lemon and ginger!
Aloe Vera history backs to Egyptian civilisation. It is an evergreen perennial that grows in tropical climate worldwide. Walk into any cosmetic aisle; you will find the aloe based moisturiser, shampoos, body wash, face wash, creams and what not? These days, you can see aloe gels and drinks in the health aisle as well.
Why Aloe Vera Juice?
We all know the soothing and healing property of aloe vera. No wonder all the skin care products go behind aloe vera. That very same feature made me go behind aloe as well. :-) I have had acne issues for a long time but never worried too much about them as they weren’t painful.
My acne got worse, and it became excruciating (no, I am not exaggerating). With super sensitive skin, I had no choice other than to consult my Primary Care Physician.
Why Aloe Vera?
I am still on prescribed acne medication, but as a side effect of the medicines, skin peeling and skin irritation started to occur. Apparently, that’s how the acne medicines work. Coconut oil did help but I wanted some soothing natural coolant, and aloe vera was my first choice. Luckily, we do get fresh aloe here in the grocery store (it’s high time, I need to plant my own) and that lead me to my aloe vera exploration.
I had no clue how to cut aloe vera and which part to use even. As usual Lord, the Google helped me, and I was so amazed seeing the other medicinal benefits of aloe.
