I got thinking about it, because I think too damn much, but when you get a player who is trying to abuse the bounty system like this it's actually preferable to die to them from time to time, as long as you do it when you don't lose much for dying. I think the optimal ratio is 1 death per 4 kills, but I could be wrong on the math there. If you're 8/0 against a 0/8 toplaner then you've racked up 1522 gold in bounty collection, but you're worth 1200 gold on a shut-down if you die while your opponent is only worth 100. If you give up a death when you're 4/0, though, when you reach 8/1 you'll have earned 1940 gold (up 418 gold over if you didn't die), and you're much less likely to hand the enemy jungler a 1000+ gold bounty. Sure, your opponent is 700 gold richer than he was when you went 8/0, but I think this makes things less volatile overall: If you choose to die to your lane opponent at a good recall timing then you'll still be far ahead of him when you get back to lane and won't lose much in the way of minions. Good luck convincing your teammates you're not trolling, though.
