In this episode of Along The Trail with Cheryl Rogers Barnett. Cheryl visits with her good friend Actor Robert Fuller. Robert has a very successful movie and Television career starring in the TV series Laramie as Jess Harper and in the Western TV series Wagon train as Cooper Smith. Cheryl says - Bob and I have been friends since he was starring in Laramie (Wagon Train and Emergency! soon followed). We met while I was volunteering at a celebrity picture taking that benefited ChildHelp. My children were very little at the time but we were encouraged to bring them along so that they would see what volunteering was about. Bob was so great with children. My girls, Lisa and Kim, formed immediate crushes on him. I think they still have the polaroids that Bob took with them.
It was so kind of Bob and his wife, Jennifer, to invite me to their ranch last November to film the interview for my new interview show “Along the Trail.” Their ranch is just like them, warm and welcoming. I had a great time and learned a lot about Bob that I didn’t know, like he first got noticed in film as a dancer. Thanks.
Along The Trail travel talk show is produced by Westerns On The Web Productions in partnership with Little Trigger Productions.

I just found Laramie. I love it. It warms my heart that Fueller is still alive. I was sad to see John smith passed decades ago. But Laramie is wonderful and is more entertaining than most shows on today.

I ONLY watch DVDS. No problems with unwanted garbage 'Laramie', or whatever I want. KZfaq is also great for the oldies, for reminding me of the ones that I have forgotten about or don't know. Robert Fuller still looks like he's not a whimp. Looks great.

That was awesome, thank you for your honesty and being authentic. I like Sean Penn and Rosie, but get the disconnect. Robert Fuller is no longer a mystery, great interview and information. Our world’s are colliding and we see thing’s differently, but this man made me dream about a different time and place, convincingly. Slim (smith)and him were good together, both were great at acting. I’ve been watching rerun’s and before I know it, I’ll be lost in a storyline about the Wild West. They were men of integrity and did what he wanted to do, like fishing and hunting. My kind of guy, knowing what worked for him. That Ranch is beautiful, nice to see him chilling and fishing on property 🎉 peace Mr. Fuller. Always has a soft spot in my heart for Laramie , thanks for the memories 🌞

Yes, we salute you, always nice for us here in Europe to hear facts from you natives about actors, in Sweden we were lucky because our National television broadcasting company never dubbed anything so we always got to see all your series with the flavor (dialects intonation, etc.) intact, Western series/movies were very popular in Sweden. God Bless America! C

I loved the story about the bonus! I always wonder how actors remember all the intimate details of their work from so many years ago. I don't remember names of many of the people I worked with (although I do remember all their faces). How do these folks remember so well?! My husband and I watch Laramie nearly every day on GRIT. We like the older shows; most shows today are crass. We've moved a lot and far, so I also enjoyed hearing about Robert's moves with his family.

Wise move to shoot on the perfect, western themed location, Robert Fuller's hacienda. . . . The selection and inclusion of the representative movie and tv memorabilia was a big plus. Cheryl comes across friendly, spirited and 'up' for the interview and clearly enjoys the time with her guest(s). Speaking of which, I wish she had a prepared list of excellent Robert Fuller-themed questions. Like asking about specific guest stars he worked opposite on "Wagon Train", like Barbara Stanwyck, Carol Lawrence, Neville Brand, Joan Fontaine, Charles Ruggles, Annette Funicello, Rhonda Fleming and Linda Evans I would trade that for the time-killer Yul Brynner anecdote that's on the "Laramie" and "Wagon Train" and "The Virginian" DVDs' bonus tracks. See, THERE'S where Cheryl should have realized this anecdote was going on FAR TOO LONG plus being a fan, surely she'd heard it when watching her DVD sets -- so steer Fuller into talking about 'fresh' material that's of interest to his large following.. An obvious subject would be "Wagon Train" going from 60 min. b&w to 90 min. in color; then reverting back to 60 min. and b&w. Surely that affected the total number of weeks worked each season and salary. . . . And speaking of 90 mins. Fuller guested on "The Men from Shiloh," the revamped 90-minute series, "The Virginian"'s final season in one of Stewart Granger's two episodes filmed on location in Mexico, 'Flight from Memory,' that also guest starred Burgess Meredith and Tisha Sterling (ed. - surprisingly and disappointingly 'boring'). How different Howard Christie, "Wagon Train" producer was from "Emergency!"'s Jack Webb? How did he enjoy and what adjustments did he make annually when going from 39 episodes of "Laramie" to (only) 22 on "Emergency!"? For both movies and tv, what were his favorite and worst locations? With his skill using Winchesters and Colts what actors and actresses excelled at being proficient with guns, e.g., Glenn Ford? Unfortunately Fuller misunderstood Cheryl's interesting, behind-the-scenes account of Republic's CEO Yatss not wanting to branch into tv -- a pattern reflecting a bias that a few other studios followed; then Fuller rattled off Lee Marvin's "M Squad" and other shows that merely rented office space, production facilities and soundstages at the Republic lot from which to produce, i.e., they weren't Republic entities.. Another question, missed opportunity: which performers signed to Universal's well-known talent development program does he think came out the best? What were his thoughts of the practice? And finally, the titillating query, "So, Bob, from leading ladies to 'day players,' WHO were the best kissers -- names, please!?" "Thank you, 'Westerns on the Web.'"
