Eu ne gostava de reggae, mas em 89 fui pasar um tempo com meu pai nio Piauí, e lá o Apha estava em alta com as músicas do disco de 85, Sebe Allah, Idjidja, Djinamory, Banana, eram as músicas que ninguém ficava sentado quando tocavam nas festas ou nas boates da época. Alpha Blondy era o artista mais respeitado na época naquele lugar.
