Thus far, I do like these young ladies stroll better than the one where the young ladies were wearing on the cut off shorts (in Texas). Yes, they all look beautiful and classy, but this video was the better one AKA stroll and my opinion. I do have a family member that's part of the organization, but they are part of a graduate chapter.

My knowledge of this sorority is just the opposite in the beginning in order to even be considered for AKA you had to have light skin and " good hair"

@k b2543 I haven't assumed a thing. The OP said the AKAs represent God given African beauty. AKAs represent vanity and shaking their chemically straightened hair. I didn't make one assumption about individual members. I personally know AKAs who don't have chemically straightened hair. But it's about what the org represents.

@@mslesia43 Some of the undergraduate chapters still won't allow dark-skinned ladies. Often when you see darker women fronting because they are AKA, they joined the graduate chapters. I have even had some beautiful darker college students ask me to intervene on their behalf because members said they had to pass the paper bav test.

This is a very stupid question but the my response should be understandable. Promoting vanity uplifts black women because the AKA are basically showing you should be very confidence in yourself. As well as they had excessive pride which everyone and of course black women should feel😁

Let me add to this answer. Vanity may be the wrong word by definition. Confident is more descriptive of what the ladies are. God created us in His own image and He is great. We are ladies that promote and reflect self-care to display the inner and outer beauty God created. Whoever is mad at that is just that......mad. Not one sorority in the Divine 9 is gonna promote: “don’t get your hair done”, “no manicures or pedicures”, “wear ragged clothes”, “don’t care for your complexion”, “don’t excel in your classes”, “don’t speak articulate”, “don’t be kind or nice to one another,” and “when you’re before people hang your head down sheepishly because you want folks to think you are a coward or too shy to interact with them”. I could go on but the picture is clear. Some of the step displays of this day are different from my day. Some of the stepping from my day was different than the Sorors before me. Bottom line D9 Sorority Girls are classy and there’s nothing wrong with them displaying it. Skee-Wee💕💚💕. Pledged in 1984 and I’m still all that.
